Since I will probably be drinking upon arrival in Eau Claire, I will give you my bowl picks for the five games on tomorrow. I will also probably be working on the January 1st bowl games tomorrow sometime, I promise I will get those too. My record stands at 9-6 and would have a perfect week had it not been for the two point conversion.
ARMED FORCES BOWL: Houston vs. Air Force- Because this is the Armed Forces Bowl, is Air Force the one that people root to win this game? Houston has been up and down all year, at one point they looked like BCS busters and the other they looked like an average C-USA team. Air Force didn't have one stand out win but they played TCU the closest of anybody. I think this game is a toss-up and I like Case Keenum to lead a final drive. HOU 41-38
SUN BOWL: Oklahoma vs. 21. Stanford- The Sooners are another team like USC who isn't familiar with playing before the New Year starts and they have managed with having Landry Jones as their quarterback, which shows promise for next year. The Cardinal is led by Toby Gerhart and he might be one of the most impressive players to watch. I feel he wears down OU and takes over in the fourth. STAN 28-17
TEXAS BOWL: Navy vs. Missouri- Two games featuring the Armed Forces and the Naval Academy isn't a joke. A very good football team with their stud quarterback Reggie Dobbs plus that option can be very tough to stop. Missouri has one bad lost on the year and they are on a three-game winning streak, I like the Tigers big. MIZZOU 34-14
INSIGHT BOWL: Minnesota vs. Iowa State- It should be renamed to the Inconsistency Bowl with both teams going back and forth with wins/losses, there is no telling what could happened in this one. I have no idea if the Gophers get Eric Decker back but if so, they could be the favorite in this one. The Cyclones are about as boring as you can get, good defensive team. I think we have a defensive struggle with the Gophers pulling it out late. MINN 16-13
PEACH BOWL: 11. Virginia Tech vs. Tennessee- The Hokies probably didn't expect to be here after promising outlook to begin the year but I believe they took this bowl in honor of Coach Bobby Bowden, which is unfortunate for the Volunteers. Tennessee has a chance to make a statement about next year with how they play against a superior opponent. This game always is a blowout so I will pick it that way. VT 38-14
Have a safe one,
Charlie.

Well, you had the score almost correct; just the teams wrong ... still like Mizzou "big time" ... When do they arrive in Houston ?
Consistancy is a valued attribute ... maybe you should steer clear of trying prognostication on service academy bowl games ... (;o]
All the credit in the world to the Naval Academy. I love Reggie Dobbs, great athlete, I just thought Mizzou would be better. I got killed yesterday.
