BREWERS MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!!

Brewers made the playoffs.

Brewers made the playoffs.

I got to be honest with Chuck Nation, I did not see this one coming whatsoever. I didnt write anything on here during the ups and downs of September because I was trying to stay positive and the last time I wrote about the Crew, they got swept by the Cubs. Therefore I am not making any predictions about the Brewers (you should already know).

God, I dont remember being happier than I was all of yesterday. I made phone calls/texts to people and every response was the same, "I couldnt be happier, this is amazing." That it is and I am so glad I didnt have to wait another year longer. Honestly, I wasnt able to view the game because of other arrangements but listening to the call of the double play to end it and the Ryan Braun homer by Bob Uecker and Brian Anderson just send chills down my spine and bring me close to tears.

One of the best moments for me had to be talking to my dad for almost an hour on how cool this was and all of the different things we had mentioned during the season. I think my favorite comment to him was "I could give two shits about how the Packers did." He just laughed and said yeah "I watched maybe a half-quarter." After talking with him, it was something I wish I could of share with him in person.

As Coach said via text message, "Dale Sveum brought us the Easter Sunday Miracle and now this... He may be the second coming of Jesus." I couldnt agree more, Dale told his boys to Give Em Hell on Sunday and thats what they did.
Now, no one expects the Brewers to do anything in the playoffs so I hope they play with the "to hell with you" attitude and just take care of the Phillies like no one business.

Give Em Hell Crew.

What the Hell Part Deux

So after the debacle that was USC, eight other top 25 teams lost which has been decided to be my focus of the college football wrap-up. Granted teams like TCU, and Illinois lost to higher top 25 teams (Oklahoma, and Penn State) so its not like they should be thrown into this awful stew.

Georgia- The blackout was a cool idea but when you get smacked in the mouth by Alabama 31-0 in the first half, shit like that isnt half as cool. I mean the Dawgs made tried to make a game in the second half but there was no hope for the Dawgs. Nick Saban may be the best coach in college football, I mean in only two years he has brought back the Crimson Tide and their defense is unreal.

Florida-How much do you want to be the guy who parted the red sea so Ole Miss could block that extra point? Yeah I wouldnt either. They lost on a goddamn extra point which will not sit well with the Gators for days. I also didnt agree with the Gators' playcalling at the end of the game. I would not of went deep twice when all you need was a Field Goal and then run Tebow up the middle on 4th and 1. I told you the Rebels were going to make this game a lot closer than people would think. In addition, after the display Arkansas put up against Texas (52-10), they look like complete idiots for firing Houston Nutt.

Wisconsin- Man where do I start with this one? I was watching the game with my boys and after the Badgers were up 19-0 in the first half, we focused on the Brew Crew and before you know it, they had lost the game. The main reason for this defeat? I would go with Paul Chryst. Although, Travis Beckum- a preseason All-American, senior leader causes another TE to line up ineligible which is just inexcusable. But that was only one play at the end, Chryst went super conservative and stuck to the same thing over and over again. Now for the 15th straight time Wisconsin cannot get it done in the Big House.

Wake Forest- The ACC and the Big East minus South Florida are both straight up jokes. The supposed best team in the ACC cannot get it done against a Navy team who is the best military school but in no way should they defeat a top 20 team. Wake will probably end up winning the ACC but they really shouldnt.

Clemson- Remember when this team was #9 in the nation, got all the hype in the world well now they are 2-2 and Tommy Bowden remembers what the hot seat feels like. They have not beat a worthy opponent yet and once again proving how awful the ACC is.

East Carolina- These guys were everyone media darling two weeks ago and now look at them beat by NC State, and Houston. Houston?! Thats the one that gets me because they got thrashed by 17, and the Cougars seemed to have a hapless defense. I am glad this one team that can be ruled out of the BCS.

I know this isnt the first time this will happen.

Week 4 NFL Picks

Cleveland (0-3) at Cincinnati (0-3)- Talk about a judgement game. Both teams had relatively high expectations going into the season this year and they have not met them. Derek Anderson is showing he is a one-year wonder and Ocho Cinco is nowhere to be found. Defenses tend to go out the window in these games and I will take the Bengals by a FG but Anderson keeps his job... for now. CIN 38-35

Minnesota (1-2) at Tennessee (3-0)- The battle of the journeyman quarterback or really good defenses going up against each other. This game could easily be 6-3. The difference is I think the Titans can actually pass the ball for reasonable yards to allow the run offense to open and I still think the Vikings cannot. TEN 13-3

Denver (3-0) at Kansas City (0-3)- The state of Missouri looks like it has two teams battling for the number one pick in the draft already and this week wont be any different as Selvin Young will have a big game as KC cannot stop the run and Jay Culter even with Cheifs decent pass defense will light them up as well. DEN 35-14

San Fransico (2-1) at New Orelans (1-2)- This game is one that I think is a true toss-up. The 49ers seem to have a true QB in J.T. O'Sullivan and all of the young players they got in the draft in the last couple years are starting to look strong- Manny Lawson, Patrick Willis, and so on. New Orelans offense has been great so far but their defense has been less than stellar which will lead to their demise once again. SF 42-35

Arizona (2-1) at New York Jets (1-2)- The battle of the ageless wonders in Kurt Warner and Brett Favre. Arizona is make their second straight trip out east and this could be a statement game for them with a win. The Jets need this to get back to .500 and I think they will be able to get done as Favre leads a 2 minute drive for the win. NYJ 24-20

Green Bay (2-1) at Tampa Bay (2-1)- The bay showdown and what was one of the best rivalries in the early 2000 when the Packers could not win in Tampa to save their soul and where Warren Sapp told Mike Sherman to put a jersey on! And of course, the Favre-Sapp rivalry but thats all gone now. I think you will see Brian Griese passing the ball a ton early without Al Harris in there and if Atari Bigby doesnt play it will be a long day in the secondary. Although I see Aaron Rodgers will bounce back nicely and Ryan Grant gets it going on the ground. GB 24-17

Atlanta (2-1) at Carolina (2-1)- Another statement game in the NFL, both teams were not expected to be much this year and I think if the Panthers dont give up that fumble against the Vikings, they might have won that game too. The big question will Michael Turner be able to get it going against a solid defense, something tells me he will and I will take the Falcons in a minor upset. ATL 17-14

Houston (0-2) at Jacksonville (1-2)- The Jags save themselves from an 0-3 start with a great drive to get Josh Scobee a chance at a field goal and I would stick to the same plan as last week. The Texans are not a bad team by any means so it would not shock me to see them win but I think the Jags are better. JAX 31-17

San Diego (1-2) at Oakland (1-2)- Could this be Lane Kiffen's last game? Who knows with Al Davis but I dont see this one turning out good for the Raiders as they face a San Diego offense that has found their stride who will not care how good Rob Ryan's defense is as LT will stroll to victory. SD 34-16

Buffalo (3-0) at St. Louis (0-3)- Life is good if you are a Bills fan, finally a new breed of players that are starting to remind some of Jim Kelly, Andre Reed, Thurman Thomas, and Bruce Smith. They will not falter against a Ram team whose more divided than Americans on a picking the next president. No way can Trent Green save this sinking ship. BUF 38-0

Washington (2-1) at Dallas (3-0)- The Redskins is starting to look like a better team than expected and this is always a dogfight no matter what the records are. The Skins seem to have a natch for coming into Irving and stealing a victory although I think Dallas is too tough and playing too well for that to happen. DAL 20-10

Philadelphia (2-1) at Chicago (1-2)- The homecoming game for Donovon McNabb so expect to see him inspired although the Bears were very close to victory against the Bucs last week and they seem to get up for the big teams. This one will be a defensive struggle but I think the Eagles passing game will be the difference. PHI 21-13

Pittsburgh (2-1) at Baltimore (2-0)- This is probably one of the weakest primetime games I have seen in awhile although the Ravens could show that last year was a complete fluke if they can find a way to win this one. I think both teams are going to see blitzes the entire game and because of the experience at quarterback for the Steelers, they find a way to win it. PIT 21-9

Have a good one.

-Charlie.

A Shift of Power in the NFL

Even though we are only 3 weeks deep into the NFL season, I think it can be said that a change of power is happening with the NFC having the more powerful teams in the NFL. One of the big reason this is at least happening this year is because of the New England Patriots without Tom Brady are no better than 3rd place in a weak AFC East. But there are other teams who leave fans confused....

-Pittsburgh Steelers, a team that I call "the best in the NFL" has an offensive line that couldnt stop a HS defensive line. They give Roethlisberger no time in the pocket and truly exploited last week in Philadelphia.

-Indianapolis Colts-Granted, last weekend that game could of went either way but they are not the best team in the AFC South, that honor belongs to the Tennessee Titans. They have a great defense that it doesnt even matter that Kerry Collins is leading their team offense.

-San Diego Chargers- Only my former high school defense is worst than the Chargers. I cannot wait to see San Diego-Denver again because it will be about 51-48. Both teams are the best in the AFC West, and they cant stop shit on defense.

The ones that are taking the power....

-Dallas Cowboys- They are the best overall team in the NFL. It pains me to say that but its true, they have everything a team needs to be successful.

-Philadelphia Eagles- I thought they were way overrated going into the season but they have proven me wrong. This a very good team if McNabb stays healthy.

-New York Giants- You need any more evidence that their Super Bowl team was legit? Any three of these in the NFC East can win the Super Bowl, easily the best conference in the NFL.

-Green Bay Packers- Despite the lost last weekend, the Packers have a defense that can do much damage and the offense has prove they are perfectly fine without Brett Favre.

Now on to the picks....

What in the Hell?

USC.

How can you get absolutely embarrassed against Oregon State. A team that barely beats Stanford and a team who got throttled at the hands of Penn State. USC you looked two weeks ago like no one was going to come close to touching you all year and now you piss it away for now? Wow, unreal to me.

I didnt watch most of the game because I was watching Ryan Braun walkin' it off last night. But what I saw was that the defensive line of USC just got destroyed by Jacquizz Rodgers a true freshman. It makes one thing if Beanie Wells had played for the Buckeyes, would they have came closer to winning that game? Also the mighty stable couldnt do shit especially Reggie Bush Jr. (Joe McKnight) which once again is puzzling after they dominated Ohio State front line.

They still have a chance into the BCS Championship but its going to be a mighty climb because I think you will see one of the Big 12 teams in there and one SEC team likely. It is going to be tough for the Trojans to recover.

As for the Beavers, they could be the second-best team in the Pac 10 which I know isnt saying much this year but doesnt matter, they could really make some noise throughout the rest of the year. Also the future looks very bright with Jacquizz Rodgers in the backfield and hopefully they rock those Orange unis all year.

Who knows we could be on upset alert all day tomorrow.

Top 25 Predictions

No article this week. There is really isnt anything that has peak my interest. There are a ton of a top 25 matchups that will leave for a good Monday post. So look forward to that, I just decided to make my picks because I have nothing better to do.

1. USC-At Oregon State-This is the Thursday night matchup and despite the bad success that the Trojans have had at Corvaillis, I think this team is focused on and will blowout the Beavers. USC 38-13

2. Oklahoma- vs. 24. TCU- Another big matchup this weekend between two good ones. If the Horned Frogs were to win this game then they should be higher in the polls than BYU. They are the more deserving non-BCS team then. I like the Horned Frogs chances to keep it close for most of the game although the Sooners are too good and will pull away late. OKLA 31-21

3. Georgia- vs. 8. Alabama- This is one will be a hard fought battle to the very end and expect the Dawgs to win this game through the air. Terrence Cody for Bama (their version of Gilbert Brown) will reek havoc on the young O-Line for the Dawgs. In addition, Nick Saban at least this year had gotten his boys ready to play in the big game situation. Georgia in my mind is a legit team and I think Matt Stafford is good enough to lead this team this week and will do so. UGA 17-14

4. Florida-vs. Mississippi- This marks the return of Jevan Sneed to Gainsville and something tells me that this game will be a lot closer than Urban Meyer would like. The Rebels could easily be 4-0 if not for some bad breaks against Wake Forest and Vanderbilt. I always trust in Tim Tebow and this week will be no difference, I see Tebow leading them down to win on the final drive. FLA 28-24

5. LSU-vs. Mississippi State- I dont think this one should be close for long. The Bulldogs have a pretty solid defense but it will not be any match for the Tigers as they show no signs of letting down after their big win in Auburn. LSU 31-6

6.Missouri-Bye

7. Texas-vs. Arkansas- A classic rivalry renewed between two teams who have some bad blood between them although this one will not have any heroics. I thought the Razorbacks were much better than they actually are plus Colt McCoy and the Longhorns have not been stopped on offense. UT 42-17

8. Alabama-See 3. Georgia

9. Wisconsin-at Michigan-The Badgers go into the Big House this weekend in the top 10 facing an unranked Wolverine team. I think the Badgers should win by a couple touchdowns but I just dont see the Badgers playing to their full potential. I think a game-winning FG decides this one as the Badgers snap their 14 game losing streak at the Big House. UW 20-17

10. Texas Tech-Bye- But watch the dating advice of their head coach Mike Leach, also Coach Leach has a bunch of great YouTube clips.

11.BYU-Bye

12. Penn State- vs. 22. Illinois- I think this is the one big games of the weekend that has the best chance of being a blowout. Its under the lights in Happy Valley which in my opinion is one of the toughest places to play and I think Penn State is one of the most underrated teams in the nation because all you hear about is the Big 12 and SEC but in reality, the upper echelon of the Big 10 isnt half bad. PSU-35-20

13. South Florida-at NC State- Well the Wolfpack have another chance to play spoiler and I think Coach Levittet will have his boys prepared after seeing the dismantle of ECU and this would of been my upset pick if the Wolfpack QB Russell Wilson hadnt gone down with injury. It will be very hard for QB Harrison Beck to win against South Florida. USF 24-10

14. Ohio State-vs. Minnesota- Now I think the Gophers are much better than team then they have been in the last couple of years and I think this game has a chance to be close for awhile. I am not sold whatsoever on the Buckeyes and this will be a game I will have my eye on. In the end, the Buckeyes defense gets done against the Gophers late. OSU 24-20

15. Auburn-vs. Tennessee- The Vols need to be included in the catagory of "Former great teams" like Michigan, FSU, Miami, Notre Dame, and Nebraska (granted 3/4 are in the top 35) always expectations yet never seemed to match-up to them. The Vols will be off to a comfty 1-3 start after this week lost to Auburn. AUB 27-14

16.Wake Forest-vs. Navy- The Midshipmen are the best military school out of the three, too bad they will have no chance against the Demon Deacons. WAKE 45-10

17.Utah-vs. Weber State- This one isnt worth my time on the keyboard. UTAH 70-3

18.Kansas-Bye

19. Boisie State-Bye

20.Clemson-vs. Maryland- The Terps are going to need alot of these big hits to win the football game. Both teams have been up and down to start the season but Clemson is overall the better football team. They will enjoy a significant victory in this one. CLEM 31-20

21. Vanderbilt-Bye

22. Illinois- See 12. Penn State

23. East Carolina-vs. Houston- The exciting world of C-USA football! Yes so jacked for that to start up again. I think this one shouldnt even be close as Houston defense cant seem to stop anyone. ECU 38-9

24. TCU-see 2. Oklahoma

25. Fresno State-At UCLA- Well I need an upset pick and I really like the chances of every team that is favored to win but for the hell of it, I will take the Bruins in this one. A west coast rivalry that the Bruins need/want to prove that they can be the same team that beat an SEC team. UCLA 31-28

Other Games to watch...
-Purdue at Notre Dame
-Virgina Tech at Nebraska
-Colorado at Florida State

Enjoy it.

-Charlie.

Matt Millen Gets the Boot..... 3 Years Late

This was about as shocking of news as finding out that Clay Aiken was gay. Basically saying everyone saw it coming, it was just a matter of time before it actually happened.
Matt Millen will never find an executive job in the NFL ever again. There is no possible way somebody can think its a good idea to have this guy in charge. The fans of teams in the NFC North loved the fact that Millen was in charge because we all knew that the Lions were nothing better than a 3rd place team.
The record of the Lions during Millen's seven years at the helm... 31-85. Wow, that is god-awful, how can you not fire this guy after about three years. He also the same guy who loved any wide receiver that was around in the first round a la Charles Rodgers (could of had Andre Johnson or Terrence Newman), Roy Williams (that one was good) and Mike Williams (missed out on DeMarcus Ware, Shawne Merriman, and Thomas Davis). In addition, I dont think he ever surrounded Joey Harrington- looking back on that pick, they could have Dwight Freeney or Roy Williams (free safety) with enough players to make him successful. Granted, he is still a bust but isnt on the top of the list for me. I just find it crazy that 50% of Millen's top 10 picks were wide recievers, just crazy.

It was a good move by the Lions to do it when they did. Now they can have a long process of picking a GM and I have not seen any lists of guys who could be favorites. I think they should at least keep around Rob Mirinelli. I think he has potential to be a good coach in my opinion.

-Charlie.

Al Harris Done for the Year?

I still think its a worthy blog mention as one of Green Bay's best players is possibly done for the year with a spleen problem. Everyone has been unsure whether its a ruptured, torn, or lacerated spleen and if he will be back this year. What does this mean for the Packers....

Anytime you lose one of your best players, it is never a good thing whatsoever although it gives way to a couple of young guys to show what they are worth. Right now according to ESPN.com, they have Will Blackmon slated in the #2 slot. Which I think is probably the right call, Blackmon is a speedy and very instinctive player. I worry about his foot issues though. I really like Tramon Williams though, I think he has the opportunity to be a great player for the Green Bay Packers. I thought Miles Austin of Dallas pushed off when he gave up that long pass play Sunday night.

I think the Packers might want to take a look at either Ty Law or Fakhir Brown who was just released by the St. Louis Rams. Those are two players that could make an impact for the Packers.

Worst case scenario is if Blackmon, Williams, or Charles Woodson goes down. That will mean more of Jarrett Bush, and Patrick Lee. We do not want to see that, I have no faith whatsoever in those two guys especially if they have to see more time.

-Charlie.

NFL Weekly Wrap-Up

We will kind of do the same thing I did for College Football. Just a bunch of quick hitters, what I got right, what i got partially got right, and what the hell was I was thinking.

-I think the Mizzou football team would be more exciting than the Chiefs or the Rams right now. God, are they bad. It looks like the Show-Me State will go one and two in the draft this year. KC cant decide who their QB is and STL has no defense in sight by giving up atleast 35+ points in the first two games

-Brett and the Jets are 1-2, rough. Cant say I didnt expect the start with the tough schedule but now with the Bills improving plus having go out west two more times, I think the Jets arent looking as good as people thought.

-Mike McCarthy playcalling looked like Ned Yost trying to manage the bullpen. I just didnt get alot of the moves he was making in the game for the Packers. I hope its not a sign of things to come this weekend against Tampa Bay.

-My apologies to Joey Porter who put his money where his mouth was this week with the absolute bashing of the New England Patriots and Porter had three sacks in the game as well. NE needs to play a wait/see process with Cassel, its still early and it wasnt Cassel fault the D gave up 38 points to the Phins.

-Another apology to the Grizzled Back-ups of the NFL club as all three of them went 3-0 this week and Brian Griese went for 400 yards in at OT victory against the Bears, Kerry Collins has his Titans 3-0 and Gus Ferrotte won with the Vikes although their D had a lot to do with that one.

Tom Swittel- A Hall of Fame Coach?

Did I hear right?

No really did I?

Why on earth does the WIAA see it reasonable to have Wauwatosa East Head Football Coach Tom Swittel into its Hall of Fame of coaches when he has only coached 14 years and has no conference championships to go along with it. How about he has never sniffed the third round of the playoffs. I think this is an absurd nomination and no way, shape, or form deserving.

Now to Swittel, I give him a lot of credit for making to the playoffs on a somewhat consistent basis with some of those teams having little depth. He did although in the last couple years have Jeff Donovan- Starting QB at UW-Whitewater at the helm So those years he had the depth on offense he needed to win football games and did so. You really can only point out last year as a surprise year with not much depth around them.

Another good thing about Swittel is he did create the Red Raider Junior Football Program whose one of the best in the southeastern area although its funny because they always have huge numbers yet they never seem to result in the High School. Hmm... isnt that a reflection of the Hall of Fame head coach?

Finally, this is a personal gripe but why doesnt this Hall of Fame coach play the rival Wauwatosa West Trojans. People at UWEC know about TE because of Jerry Smith and their state title in basketball although when I tell them we dont play in football, they are shocked.

The Hall of Famer's comments on this... "Well we have nothing to gain playing Tosa West". Although you do when you are playing Milwaukee Malcolm X, right. Now that you got your plaque and why dont you play Tosa West in an annual rivalry.

Just a thought for the Hall of Famer.

College Football Wrap-Up

After the games are over on Saturday, either on Sunday or Monday give my thoughts on the week that was with short quick hitters. One of them will probably be expanded into an article the day before my picks (so Wednesday).

SEC has the best teams- I think when you have four top ten teams in your conference which is a third of the overall conference, its safe the say you are the strongest in the Nation. Teams like Georgia and Alabama proved to me their strengths with wins in dominating fashion where I expected the games to be close.

Dont forget the Big 12- They also have four in the top 10 with the addition of Texas Tech this week. They are all looking very strong but they will likely fall off as they seem to. Oklahoma in my opinion is the best all-around in the Big 12.

BYU=Next Hawaii?- They are beating opponents at will and it looks like (ugh) they might be making a run at the BCS but they could easily lose to TCU or Utah. I really hope for no non BCS teams that would be nice.

Bye ECU- I told you guys it would be a squeeker, I just didnt expect the Wolfpack to pull it out in the end. They will probably win their conference but no BCS game for them. If their bball team could get their shit together, they should be apart of the ACC.

I called it- I got Boise State and Colorado right this week and now Boise St. gets thrown in the conversation of BCS-busters. As for the Buffs, proves my point about the Big 12 above, and I think they will hover around the top 25.

Miss that one- FSU-Wake I got wrong, I thought the Seminoles would be able to take advantage of the homefield but both QBs struggled mightly with Wake Forest Defense. The Demon Deacons look to be the class of the ACC.

Finally, thoughts and prayers are with Dante Love from Ball State who will live a healthy life but will never be able to play football again which is a same because he would of been drafted this year in the NFL and the South Florida LB Brouce Mompremier who will only miss 2 weeks after a collision with his teammate.

USA! USA! USA!

To be honest with Chuck Nation, I was not paying much attention all day to the NFL. Most of you think, "Oh he had a lot of homework." That I did but I actually was enjoying the Ryder Cup and America's first win since 1999 without Tiger Woods.
Some believe that the United States was better off without Woods but he is the best in the world for a reason. Even though he has a shotty Ryder Cup, he would of fed off the energy just like anybody else. I think Woods easily made the team stronger.

I am in awe on how well-coached the United States compared to the Europe team. No matter how you spin it, Paul Aszinger outcoached Nick Faldo. I dont know what was going on in Faldo's head on Sunday when he did not play Ian Poulter easily their best player of the weekend in one of the first matches.

First off, the Kentucky boys-Kenny Perry and J.B. Holmes were just dominated and did not crumble underneath the pressure of going back to their home state to play in one of the biggest golf events of the years.

Second, Anthony Kim is becoming my next favorite golfer to Woods, he plays with such a cocky, vibrant style that I just love about him. Also he was a drunkard two years ago, and realized he wasnt going out this way so he stepped to the challenge. This kid will win at least one major next year, write it down.

Third, another southerner who is the man and wish the best of luck is Boo Weekly to hear the BOOOS being a good thing all throughout the weekend plus that awesome dance he had on Sunday.

Lastly, the awful play by the big three on Europe- Lee Westwood, Sergio (the Rat) Garcia, and Padraig Harrington. The only guy I like is Harrington so it wasnt a disappointment to see these other losers crumble. Westwood bitched and moaned about the crowds which was insane because you know if they all were in Europe, the crowds would be just as loud. Garcia was even better, he has been the king of the Ryder Cup lately and just choke on Sunday when his team needed in the most. Also the combo of Westwood/Gracia on Friday came nowhere near expectations of them.
USA all the way.

Week 3 NFL Picks

Here is my last post of the weekend unless something explodes in the sports world. I should have a recap of the weekend that was in football, golf, and the Brewers... no scratch that, i will unload like an AK-47 when the season is over. Here we go with Week 3

Kansas City (0-2) at Atlanta (1-1)- In the game that I only care because I have Michael 'Burner' Turner in a couple fantasy leagues and after Oakland rushed for 300 yards on the Chiefs, lets just say I am pretty excited. The Chiefs are starting Tyler Thigpen a 2 year guy out of Coastal Carolina, yikes this one will be a blowout. ATL- 27-3

Oakland (1-1) at Buffalo (2-0)- Now these feature two teams that I hope for success because Lee Evans still plays for the Bills and was always a favorite Badger of mine. And the Raiders just because I think Lane Kiffen is a good coach and would hate to see him get fired for nothing. Although feelings aside, I think the Bills are for real and all the Bills need to do is just have the right combination of Trent Edwards/Marshawn Lynch and they will take care of business at home. BUF- 20-13

Tampa Bay (1-1) at Chicago (1-1)- I had mentioned the Bucs in the previous post as their golden boy Brian Griese returns to Soldier Field but I do not think it will be a happy one. Even with Devin Hester banged up, I think the Bears have a good enough defense and with Matt Forte at running back, they are solid enough to get it done on offense. CHI 14-9

Houston (0-1) at Tennessee (2-0)- You want to believe that the Texans will come out fired up and wanting to win one for Houston. But as its been shown by their MLB team the Astros, its something that is still on the minds of a lot of players. I think this one will be dominated by the Titans on the defensive end leading them to victory. TEN 28-10

Carolina (2-0) at Minnesota (0-2)- Are we headed for another year where Carolina was suppose to be dogshit and end up being one of the best in the NFC? It feels that way for sure and with Brad Childress bringing in "Head-Butt Extraordinaire" Gus Ferrotte, things dont look good for Minny. If ever Adrian Peterson needs to carry the team, this is it. But that wont happen, I got the Panthers in a close one. CAR 24-21

Miami (0-2) at New England (2-0)- Jonathan Moxson er... Matt Cassel goes for his second start of the year against the Phins and for some reason washed-up linebacker Joey Porter has been talking shit about Cassel saying "He is nothing more than a back-up" well I havent cheered for New England in awhile but I hope Cassel trucks your ass Porter. Pats win big as the Phins offense is worse than the Brewers with RISP. NE 42-10

Cincinnati (0-2) at New York Giants (2-0)- Talk about worse case scenario for the Bengals. Facing a Giant defense who has been stellar as of late and they have an explosive offense that will exploit their shitty defense. I wonder how Ocho Cinco will feel about Carson Palmer still sucking and their team at 0-3. NYG 31-14

Arizona (2-0) at Washington (1-1)- A game that is interesting for the sole fact because the revived Kurt Warner can lead his team to being 3-0 for the first time in decades. Washington is boring to watch in my opinion, they have guys who seem they would be fun to party with but thats about it. Cards will win this one in a back-forth battle. ARI 28-24

Detroit (0-2) at San Francisco (1-1)- Everyone has been on the J.T. O'Sullivan bandwagon lately and it will continue this weekend as we are set for a fashion wild west shootout as both teams provide as much defense as Canada's military. Also Mike Martz coaches for the 49ers now, you dont know think he will just want to run it up on em? Oh yeah, he will and the Lions will fall once again. SF 45-34

St. Louis (0-2) at Seattle (0-2)- Despite the Brewers pissing away everything this September, I keep reminding myself I am not a Seattle fan and thank God. But look on the bright side, you play a team who hasnt scored a touchdown. The Gods finally shine down on Seattle in the most irrelevant game of the week. SEA 31-6

New Orelans (1-1) at Denver (2-0)- This is one that I wish I could watch, I enjoy watching both teams and my hate for the Broncos is finally decreasing after losing the Super Bowl 11 years ago. I think it should be an entertaining game and no quarterback has looked better than Jay Cutler in the first two weeks. I like the Saints but I feel that their defense isnt good enough to handle the passing attack of Jay Cutler. DEN 28-21

Pittsburgh (2-0) at Philadelphia (1-1)- The battle for Keystone State once again in another professional sport as they meet in baseball of course, met in hockey during the playoffs. And just like in hockey, the Steel City will have something to brag about. The Steelers are the best team in the NFL and they will be able to take advantage of the few holes the Eagles do have. PIT 20-10

Jacksonville (0-2) at Indianapolis (1-1)- Things really dont get easier for the Jags, do they? They have struggled in the early goings of the season so far and they dont get any easier as they play a team in the Colts that has just owned them throughout the years. It wont matter this week that Bob Sanders is out because I think you will see Peyton Manning at his best- he is full strength and always gets up for the Jags. IND 34-17

Cleveland (0-2) at Baltimore (1-0)- Now the media darlings of the off season- Cleveland Browns have struggled out the gates so far and I think it will not get any better this week. I think the concussion messed with Derek Anderson and he is not at full strength just yet. It also doesnt help that Braylon Edwards cannot catch a ball to save his soul. I like Joe Flacco and I think he will continue to impress. BALT 16-10

Dallas (2-0) at Green Bay (2-0)- So I promised myself, I would put feelings aside for the Packers when I made picks this year. And I will do that as I really think the Packers will win this one. Tony Romo has never been good with pressure and under lights in Lambeau- a stadium he grew up dreaming about playing in will get to him. If Dallas wants to win, they have to figure out how to stop the big play and if the Pack wants to ensure a win, they have to make just to cover Jason Whitten at all times. It will be close throughout and will end on a Mason Crosby field goal. GB 31-28

New York Jets (1-1) at San Diego (0-2)- If you didnt know by now, San Diego is pissed off. They have lost close games in the first two plus one they really should of won. Despite Brett Favre great record in California (8-1) and Tony Kornheiser having an erection about Brett during the whole game, it will not be able to help him here as the Chargers will play inspired football on national television and win rather handily. SD 31-17

Have a good weekend

The QB Shuffle of the NFL

Something to me that is a quite disturbing is the fact of the matter that there are three teams that have scrapped their starting quarterback for veteran back-ups. I think that a lot of these teams are thinking this NFL season is a sprint which it is not. They feel these guys give them the best chance to win, lets take a gander at who we got....

Kerry Collins-Tennessee Titans- The former alcoholic and depressed guy who has risen/fallen more times than the stock market. I mean he is probably the best option out of the three guys I will talk about. He still has the talent to be an alright quarterback in the NFL and thats really all he needs to do with the Titans as they have a really good defense. What the Titans are not realizing is they are slowly destroying the ESPN hype machine baby Vince Young. I still believe Leinart will end up having a career in the NFL and Young will not because only Donovan McNabb is the only guy to pull off scrambler quarterback role but he still got hurt throughout the years. Granted, Young is a fuckin mess right now and is the NFL's version of Amy Winehouse but I really believe Coach Jeff Fisher's comments about "Kerry Collins is our quarterback if he keeps winning" is the kiss of death for Vince Young.

Next in the QB Carousel, you have Brian Griese for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, this is the one I am completely lost on why Jon Gruden thinks it is a good idea to scrap Jeff Gracia who won 12 games for your team last year for a guy like Griese who has been a bust for years upon years. Tampa Bay might believe they only need an alright quarterback to get by but they need Gracia, he is a proven winner when given a good enough team. Earnest Graham will hit a sophomore slump and their defense is just about as weathered as the New England Patriots. They will be lucky to get into the playoffs and I will not be shocked to see Gracia back by week 7.

The final one is by far the worst one... Gus Ferotte of the Minnesota Vikings. Are you kiddin' me? I dont mean to make fun of a Vikes fans but wasnt Tarvaris Jackson suppose to be the next Dnabb because Vikings head coach Brad Childress "made McNabb the player he is." Now after two games, where in my opinion, he hasnt been awful because I will go back to what I have been saying; T-Jax just has to be alright because he has Adrian Peterson, you dont need a gunslinger out there. But what has been awful has been Childress playcalling and decision making. Trust me if this team doesnt get to the playoffs, he is gone. No doubt. His hope, a 37 year old QB whose the dumbfuck that rammed his head into the stands walls.

Well the Packers play all three of these teams so hopefully the Pack makes me look like a genius when they destroy them all.

Smoke More Weed Josh.... Seriously Smoke More Weed

Josh Howard of the Dallas Mavericks may be the dumbest player in all of professional sports. First, he admits to smoking weed on a regular basis and that most NBA players do it which I personally not going to knock what you do in your free time, but why make it publicize for all of the kids in the Dallas area that look up to you plus putting unneeded publicity on your team?

Now, he might be even hotter water as he disrespected the National Anthem at Allen Iverson's charity flag football game saying and I quote, " The Star Spangled Banner going on right now, I dont even celebrate that shit, I'm black." Now say what you will about freedom of speech but Josh, are you really that fucking dumb?

First off, you are already in the public relations doghouse, why keep yourself in there for the rest of the year probably if not longer? Second of all, have you been that racially discriminated in life to make you think that America does not help you at all? I just do not understand how Mr. Howard thinks that because of his race, he has no reason to honor the Star Spangled Banner." Trust me, he has plenty but his dumbass probably hasnt read a textbook in his life.

Josh why dont you do us all a favor and move your sorry ass to Europe, where you can listen to their anthem and smoke as much weed as you like.

My New Name... The Magic Man

The reason for this is because I will go on a post streak then disappear for two months. I apologize, I have been doing work in the classroom and on the football field which gives me little time to post but I am going to do what I can to keep this gravy train rolling all year. It might not though, so dont give your hopes up.

You Want Some.... Come Get Some

I basically see the USC football team saying that to whoever decides that they want to miss with the Trojans after their throttling of the Ohio State University who once again made the Big 10 look like shit on the national stage.

The reason for the USC superpower? Their monster defense with players that seem like they have been around for seven years already. Their linebacking crew is the strongest in the nation by far with Brian Cushing, Kaluka Maiavia, Rey Maualuga whose is the leader of the group and will be a high NFL draft pick. Clay Matthews and Everson Griffen at Defensive ends also make a ton of noise in the backfield.

The offense which you would figure doesnt need to score that much but it does. Led by junior Matt Sanchez who will probably gain some Heisman votes if he keeps the pace that he is on. Also they have a 6-headed running attack with guys who all could be starters at all D-1 Schools. It is nicknamed the Stable led by C.J. Gable, Joe McKnight (Reggie Bush Jr.). In addition, they have playmaking wideouts Patrick Turner standing tall at 6'5 and Damien Williams an import from Arkansas (thanks Mitch Mustian).
This team as you can see is loaded with NFL-ready talent and these guys have all the makings of being like the really good USC teams a couple years ago and I really do not see one game on the road that would be challenging for the Trojans. They should roll in the Pac-10.

Top 25 Picks

From now I will make picks every week of the Top 25

1. USC- Bye-Everyone should be thankful

2. Oklahoma- Bye

3. Georgia- At Arizona State- I think that this is one of the best games of the weekend and I could really see it being close most of the way with UGA traveling west of the Mississippi for the first time since 1960 plus dealing with the hot weather although on the other hand ASU's defense is bad enough that it could get out of hand quick. I think Knowshawn Moreno will put it away late for the Dawgs. UGA 34-24

4. Florida- At Tennessee- This game also has the ability to get out of hand because in my personal opinion, the Gators are the second best team in the nation and the Vols are once again one of the most overhyped teams in the nation as they lost to a UCLA team who got drilled by BYU 59-0. The only advantage the Vols have is they are at home although I see that not being an issue for Tim Tebow and the boys as they take care of business and putting this away early UF 42-24

5. Missouri- Buffalo- Last weekend, Buffalo provided us with the best play of the week although they will need a bunch of the luck to keep it close with the Tigers offense. Chase Daniel will roll in this one. Mizzou 56-10

6. LSU- at 10. Auburn- Remember last weekend when Auburn won 3-2, yeah me too. They will need only a couple more points to win this one. I see it being very defense but I think Auburn despite being at home will not be able to hang with LSU. LSU 13-7

7. Texas- Rice- The Owls are a mid-level WAC team which will prove not a challenge for the Longhorns. I see no chance of upset in this one, I know the Owls have a talented WR but I dont think it will be enough at all. UT-52-13

8. Wisconsin-Bye.... Although their LB Jonathan Callisas got a DUI on a moped, way to go John, also not that I condone drunk-driving but what a site that must have been, next time just walk to the bars, John.

9.Alabama- At Arkansas- I think this could be an Upset alert for the Tide because I know the Snake that is Bobby Petrino will have his boys ready for this one and I could see the Razorbacks beating them. Although when its all said and done I think the defense of the Tide will prevail. Bama 23-20

10. Auburn- See 6. LSU

11. Texas Tech- Massachusetts- The Red Raiders might go for 80 in this one, who knows its an FCS team so it should be ugly. TT 70-0

12. South Florida- At Florida International- This game should not be a problem for Grothe and the Bulls of USF although its still a road game and FIU knows how to get in brawls. Thats the only thing I got for FIU, it should be another thrashing. USF 45-14

13. Ohio State- Troy- I really should call them "How to Embarrass the Big 10 101." This game only has interest because the train for Terrelle Pyror to start will get even stronger. The Buckeyes will win easily. OSU 56-17

14. Brigham Young- Wyoming- People are really starting to believe that BYU could be a national title contender. Please I could do it if I was playing Wyoming. The Cougars will handle them without any problems. BYU 41-3

15. East Carolina- At NC State- You know even though the Wolfpack are not supposed to be that good and the Pirates could make a bid for being in the ACC with a win here. I could really see NC State winning, but I do not have that much confidence in them. ECU in a squeaker. ECU 27-24

16. Penn State- The Nittany Lions continue to pick on the weak BCS teams that they have played and it will continue with the Owls. Penn State 45-3

17. Oregon- Boisie State- What thats you say? Oh sorry, the Ducks ask me to play quarterback and I told him I would get them the Heisman easily. I think that this game will be the upset of the weekend as the Ducks do not have a quarterback, and the Broncos can fill the box to stop their running attack. BSU- 24-20

18. Wake Forest- At 24. Florida State- This game is the ACC match up of the week and what conference is worst than the ACC, they are just awful but hopefully this game will provide some entertainment. I think the Noles are quietly rising and will prove themselves this weekend. We can only hope Jen and the FSU Cowgirls are there. FSU 24-21

19. Kansas- Sam Houston State- Mmmm Cupcakes, we all know Mangino would love one, they will pick on the weak. KU 58-0

20 Utah- At Air Force- Once again, I am not a Mountain West expert but I dont think the Falcons are too good plus I was impressed with the Utes when they beat Michigan. Utah 38-9

21. West Virgina- At Colorado- The Big East needs this win bad. They have looked awful so far as a conference and they could really use a win against a Buffalo team that wants to prove themselves to the public. The Mountaineers will not get it done here as Dan Hawkins tell them to "go play intermurals brother!" CU 24-21

22. Illinois- Bye

23. Clemson- South Carolina State- This one wont even be close for 4 minutes. Clemson 63-0

24. Florida State- See 18. Wake Forest

25. Fresno State- At Toledo- People dont consider the Rockets that good this year and I think the Bulldogs can get over their lost to the Badgers as they will win this one handily. FSU 35-14

Happy Pickings.
