The big story that came out today not Milwaukee Brewer related was the fact the Tennessee Volunteers have a bit of recruiting scandal on their hands. When you hear about NCAA investigations sometimes it never makes a splash or its a "Tiger-like" spiral of bad shit coming your way.
The NCAA is launching an investigation about Tennesse because their supposed hostesses are going to higher levels than the NCAA thinks it should be. The New York Times report entails the fact of how the hostesses would head to the prospect's high school football games making signs "Come to Tennessee!" Some people feel that the reason why Tennessee has been doing so well in recruiting in the past year is these supposed hostesses.
I have no idea which way this one will fall. A part of me wants to say that this thing will hit the fan because I really do not believe that many people like Vols Coach Lane Kiffin outside of the state of Tennessee. All of the coaches Kiffin talked about this past offseason have smiles as wide as the Atlantic Ocean. Right now if I were a Vols fan my concern level would be at about a 7. There is a chance that this turns ugly because for the sole reason, some girl snitched.
The feeling I am getting is the NCAA got tipped off about the whole thing by a girl. Why you might ask... Deadspin has a nice explanation of the whole thing and Michael Wilbon said the same thing on PTI today. These whole hostess groups are all about sex. These girls obviously know that it would help the program if the hostesses have sex with the prospects. If people do not think thats truth then you should pull your head out of the sand.
As of now, I feel Kiffin is not in jepordary of losing his job yet although I think if things get really ugly, I mean really ugly... he may be in the rut-roh zone.
