NCAA Picks Week 9, All on Uspet Alert.

Only kidding but we really haven't had that one week where about 5-7 top 25 teams drop off, will it happen? I doubt it but who knows...

1. Florida-vs. Georgia- The Gators offense have been struggling in the last couple of weeks but the Bulldogs can not stop anyone. I also do not like the chances of the Bulldogs offense, which is primarily passing. UF 34-16

3. Texas-at 14. Oklahoma State- I doubted the Longhorns before their big time win against Missouri last weekend and now they have a tough game in Stillwater. The Cowboys still do not play any defense so I expect a true shootout. TEX 38-31

4. Iowa-vs. Indiana- The Hawkeyes are currently #1 with the computers and they impress me more every week. Despite losing Adam Robinson for the year, I do not think it will bother him against the Hoosiers. IOWA 28-6

5. USC-at 10. Oregon- The Ducks have popped out of nowhere and now are back in the Top 10. They have College Gameday in Eugene and people wonder about Matt Barkley on the road. I think that point is moot because he dominated in Notre Dame. I think this game will be close and I will take the Trojans with a late FG. USC 24-21

6. TCU-vs. UNLV- The Horned Frogs looked good on the road last weekend and they shouldn't have any issues with the Runnin' Rebels especially at home. TCU 31-3

7. Boise State-vs. San Jose State- The Broncos have bulled through the WAC like they usually do and they play a pretty weak Spartan team. This shouldn't be a game. BOISE 45-10

8. Cincinnati-at Syracuse- A possible upset lurking? The Orange play very well in the Carrier Dome and I am unsure about Tony Pike's status. Doesn't matter, their offense is too good. CINCY 45-28

9. LSU-vs. Tulane- A Louisiana rivalry and this really isn't much of a game plus the Tigers have been playing good offense/defense. My friend who goes to LSU promises a drunk-dial, cannot wait for that. LSU 35-14

10. Oregon-SEE 5. USC

11. Georgia Tech-at Vanderbilt- The Yellow Jackets go out of the conference to play the Vandy but I really do not think it will be a problem for them. Vandy had their glory years with Jay Cutler and now they have passed. GT 27-7

12. Penn State-at Northwestern- The Nittany Lions head into a challenge against the Wildcats and it will be a battle in Evenston this weekend. I think its a defensive struggle with the Lions taking care of business late. PSU 21-10

13. Virginia Tech-vs. North Carolina- The Tar Heels have underachieved so far this season and the Hokies now they need to keep winning to try to get to the ACC Championship. I think Thursday night games are like Monday Night games for the NFL. The Hokies will roll. VT 31-14

14. Oklahoma State-SEE 3. Texas

16. Utah-vs. Wyoming- The Utes have been hanging around the top 20 and they barely escaped Air Force last weekend. Utah should be fine in this one. UTAH 49-24

17. Ohio State-vs. New Mexico State- The Buckeyes bounced back nicely against the Gophers last week and now gets the typical Big 10 cakewalk game to ensure they have 12 games. OSU 52-9

18. Houston-vs. Southern Miss- The Cougars have been just hanging out in Conference USA in the past couple of weeks and they should be fine against the Eagles. They did put up a fight against Kansas, yet I see Houston pulling away late. HOU 31-20

19. Miami-at Wake Forest- I would say this has a chance for an upset but Wake has lost the last two games. I do not like there chances whatsoever to knock off Jacory Harris and the defense of the U. MIAMI 38-14

21. West Virgina- at South Florida- The Mountaineers are playing good so far and they have a tough road game against the Bulls. They got rocked though against Pittsburgh last weekend so I really do not have faith in South Florida. WV 35-17

22. South Carolina- at Tennessee- The Ole' Ball Coach use to hate the Vols in the past and Lane Kiffin was mentioned in a song by Lil Wayne, which is pretty sweet. I think the Vols defense gets its done and they actually hit a field goal this time. TENN 16-14

23. Notre Dame-vs. Washington State- The Fightin Irish are playing this game in San Antonio and they will not have an issue with this game at all. The Cougars are not a good team at all and Jimmy Clausen will drop bombs throughout the game. ND 41-17

24. California-at Arizona State- Cal stats looking better and better after their blowout from Oregon. Jahvid Best still should be consider a Heisman candidate, in my opinion. The Sun Devils really haven't done anything special so far. CAL 28-21

25. Mississippi-at Auburn- The Tigers have really struggled so far in the past couple of weeks and really haven't got the offense going. I like the Rebels to roll even being on the road. OLE MISS 34-10

NBA Pacific Preview

Here the deal I am not going to give you another post on playoff predictions because its too early first off and second of all, I just am done with the NBA for awhile in terms of writing. I like it will be the Lakers-Celts again, I trust in KG's knee to stay healthy and I like the aggressiveness that Boston will play with all year. The Lakers just seem way too deep to be stopped in the postseason. In addition, watch out for the Spurs and Magic to make some noise though.

1. Los Angeles Lakers: KEY PLAYERS: SG Kobe Bryant, SF Ron Artest, PF Pau Gasol: OUTLOOK: You could added Lamar Odom, or Andrew Bynum to that list as well because like I said up top, they are so deep. It can be any of those five guys on a given night and I am beginning to really like the comparison of Dennis Rodman-Ron Artest with Phil Jackson. PREDICTION: 1st in the Western Conference.

2. Phoenix Suns: KEY PLAYERS: PG Steve Nash, PF Amare Stoudamire, SG Jason Richardson OUTLOOK: I love that this team can run again with guys listed above and I think Earl Clark will be a hell of a rookie for them too. I think they have a rebound year back in the playoffs. PREDICTION: 7th in the Western Conference.

3. Los Angeles Clippers: KEY PLAYERS: PG Baron Davis, PF Blake Griffin, SG Eric Gordon OUTLOOK: The Clips let me down last year playing like complete dogshit but Davis looks much more trim than last year plus when Griffin returns from injury, they will have a nice inside-outside game. PREDICTION: 8th in the Western Conference.

4. Golden State Warriors: KEY PLAYERS: SF Stephen Jackson, SG Monta Ellis, F Anthony Randolph OUTLOOK: People are real high on Randolph becoming an absolute stud and I think Jackson will be out of Golden State before November is over letting him take control of the team. They are a mess though and will continue to be all year. PREDICTION: 13th in the Western Conference.

5. Sacramento Kings: KEY PLAYERS: SG Kevin Martin, PF Jason Thompson, PG Tyreke Evans OUTLOOK: Could be a very ugly season for the Kings and shooting for that top spot in the draft seems very likely. Martin is their only scorer and the rest do not do much for me. OUTLOOK: 14th in the Western Conference.

-Charlie.

NBA Northwest Division Preview

Two left to go and then I leave you with the predictions that will come true in June.

1. Utah Jazz: PG Deron Williams, PF Carlos Boozer, PF Paul Millsap OUTLOOK: If they can figure out ways to have Millsap/Boozer on the court at the same time then they could be real dangerous as a large front court team. PREDICTION: 3rd in the Western Conference.

2. Denver Nuggets: SF Carmelo Anthony, PG Chauncey Billups, PF Nene OUTLOOK: The Nuggets have a lot of the same parts that brought them to the Western Conference Finals and I think Ty Lawson could be the Rookie of the Year this year. The two top spots are interchangeable. PREDICTION: 4th in the Western Conference.

3. Portland Trailblazers: SG Brandon Roy, PF LaMarcus Aldridge, SF Travis Outlaw OUTLOOK: In my opinion, this will be the best division in the Western Conference. Another team that could contend for the top spot in the Northwest. Greg Oden's development plays a large part. PREDICTION: 5th in the Western Conference.

4. Oklahoma City Thunder: SF Kevin Durant, PG Russell Westbrook, PF Jeff Green- OUTLOOK: The Thunder are my favorite young team right now and a team who I truly believe could make the playoffs if they weren't in such a tough division. Next year will be a huge year for them. PREDICTION: 11th in the Western Conference.

5. Minnesota Timberwolves: PF Al Jefferson, PG Johnny Flynn, PF Kevin Love- OUTLOOK: The mastermind that is David Kahn could not land Ricky Rubio to the states so he better hope that Flynn has a huge year or he could be short-lived as T-Wolves GM. PREDICTION: 13th in the Western Conference.

-Charlie.

NBA Southwest Division Preview

Keep it going, I am not really that tired so you are getting more of the preview....

1. San Antonio Spurs: KEY PLAYERS: PF Tim Duncan, PG Tony Parker, SG Manu Ginobili OUTLOOK: I think the Spurs have a chance to win the NBA Finals with the additions of Richard Jefferson, Antonio McDyess, and DeJuan Blair. They have to stay healthy though to have a chance. PREDICTION: 2nd in the Western Conference.

2. Dallas Mavericks: KEY PLAYERS: PF Dirk Notwitzki, SG Josh Howard, SF Shawn Marion OUTLOOK: I wasn't as excited as everybody else about the Marion deal but it should improve them in many ways especially on the defensive end. The Mavs will have a good year from Dirk who isn't dealing with that crazy bitch. PREDICTION: 5th in the Western Conference.

3. Houston Rockets: KEY PLAYERS: PG Aaron Brooks, PF Luis Scola, SF Chuck Hayes OUTLOOK: This seems to be the definition of a scrappy team with a bunch of maybe players and they will be dominated by bigger teams. It will be interesting to see what happens when T-Mac comes back in November. PREDICTION: 9th in the Western Conference.

4. New Orleans Hornets: KEY PLAYERS: PG Chris Paul, C Emeka Okafor, PF David West OUTLOOK: Could create some problems inside with the West-Okafor combination but they have no real mid-range player that makes a difference, please don't say Peja because he is over the hill. PREDICTION: 10th in Western Conference

5. Memphis Grizzlies: KEY PLAYERS: SF Rudy Gay, SG OJ Mayo, PF Zach Randolph OUTLOOK: This has more an And-1 Mixtape team, big time offense with no defensive concepts whatsoever. If they could somehow find a way to play defense then maybe they could do some things. I highly doubt it though. PREDICTION: 12th in the Western Conference.

-Charlie.

NBA Southeast Division Preview

Here is the last part of the Eastern Conference and I just want to let you know if you are a fan of rap then download Lil Wayne's new mixtape... wow.

1. Orlando Magic- KEY PLAYERS: C Dwight Howard, SG Vince Carter, PG Jameer Nelson OUTLOOK: Probably the most interesting team in the Eastern Conference with the addition of Carter who is looking to make a name for himself again. I think they are a real threat to be back in the Finals. PREDICTION: 2nd in the Eastern Conference

2. Atlanta Hawks- KEY PLAYERS: SG Joe Johnson SF Josh Smith PF Al Hortford OUTLOOK: The Hawks had a successful year last year and they have Johnson in a contract year plus they seem to have very good team chemistry. The Hawks still have a reliable point guard in Mike Bibby as well. PREDICTION: 4th in the Eastern Conference

3. Miami Heat- KEY PLAYERS: SG Dwayne Wade, PF Michael Beasley, PG Mario Chalmers OUTLOOK: Wade should have another MVP-like season but the Heat have a lot of ifs and buts. Also I think they would want to move Jermaine O'Neal's corpse as well. If Beasley/Chalmers make that jump, look out. PREDICTION: 6th in the Eastern Conference

4. Washington Wizards- KEY PLAYERS: SG Gilbert Arenas SF Caron Butler PF Antwan Jamison OUTLOOK: If Agent Zero stays healthy, they could be better than my prediction but who knows, watch out for Andray Blatche too. PREDICTION: 7th in the Eastern Conference

5. Charlotte Bobcats- KEY PLAYERS: SF Gerald Wallace PG Raymond Felton C Tyson Chandler OUTLOOK: This may be Larry Brown last run, they do not have what it will take to keep up with this division. PREDICTION: 14th in the Eastern Conference

NBA Preview: Atlantic Division

The Atlantic Division is one that will not be much of a race and I only have one of their teams in the playoffs right now.

1. Boston Celtics: KEY PLAYERS: PF Kevin Garnett, SF Paul Pierce, SG Ray Allen OUTLOOK: The Celts have a chance to bring back that 2007 swagger because they have a healthy KG plus Rasheed Wallace coming off the bench. In addition, Boston will be the most badass team in the NBA this year. PREDICTION: 1st in the Eastern Conference

2. Philadelphia 76ers: KEY PLAYERS: PF Elton Brand, SF Andre Igoudala, PG Lou Williams OUTLOOK: The Sixers look like they have a chance at the playoffs but I feel they really screwed themselves with the Jrue Holiday pick this year. Also I dont trust Brand to stay healthy. PREDICTION: 9th in the Eastern Conference.

3. Toronto Raptors: KEY PLAYERS: PF Chris Bosh, SF Hedo Turkolgu, PG Jose Calderon OUTLOOK: Expect a huge year from Bosh in a contract year but I think Hedo will not work out at all for the Raptors. This is a huge year for the Raptors to keep their franchise players which I dont think happens. PREDICTION: 10th in the Eastern Conference.

4. New York Knicks: KEY PLAYERS: PG Nate Robinson, PF David Lee PF Al Harrington OUTLOOK: The Knicks are going to hope that they have one more year and then it will all change. This year will not be pretty again with no real true scorer. PREDICTION: 12th in the Eastern Conference.

5. New Jersey Nets: KEY PLAYERS: PG Devin Harris, C Brook Lopez, SG Courtney Lee OUTLOOK: It could be an ugly year for them and once the Moscow Assassin take over Lawrence Frank will be fired plus the team will be brand new in a couple years. PREDICTION: 15th in the Eastern Conference.

-Charlie.

NBA Preview: Eastern Conference: Central Division

In trying to make this blog more in-depth for the next week or so I will be doing a preview of each division in the NBA. We will look at key players, an outlook, and where they will finish in the East or West. Here we gooo.

1. Cleveland Cavaliers- KEY PLAYERS: SF LeBron James, PG Mo Williams, C Shaquille O'Neal. OUTLOOK: I didn't like how the Cavs looked last night and the Shaq deal I felt was a lateral move. They need to go out in February and bring in a key accusation because now I still feel they have a step away from being an NBA contender. PREDICTION: 3rd in the Eastern Conference.

2. Chicago Bulls- KEY PLAYERS: PG Derrick Rose, SF Luol Deng, PF Joakim Noah. OUTLOOK: I think this is a huge year for Derrick Rose who hopefully has developed more of a jumper and can make that supposed "second year jump". Losing Ben Gordon does hurt scoring, but I think he hogged the ball way too much therefore I think the Bulls will be a better team. PREDICTION: 5th in the Eastern Conference.

3. Detroit Pistons- KEY PLAYERS: SG Rip Hamilton, SF Tayshaun Prince, PF Charlie Villanueva. OUTLOOK- On paper, the Pistons look like they could have a formidable team, also Ben Gordon will help the bench immensely. Although, you have to wonder how much Hamilton has left in him. I think they are good enough to steal a bottom spot in the East. PREDICTION: 8th in the Eastern Conference

4. Indiana Pacers- KEY PLAYERS: SF Danny Granger, PG TJ Ford, PF Troy Murphy. OUTLOOK: The Pacers really should have a logo "What can white do for you?" Anyways, they could make some moves and Granger is the most underrated player in the NBA right now. PREDICTION: 11th in the Eastern Conference.

5. Milwaukee Bucks-KEY PLAYERS: SG Michael Redd C Andrew Bogut, PF Hakim Warrick. OUTLOOK: Ah, I told myself I am going to be a bigger Bucks fan but they are not looking good whatsoever with talks of Redd on the move come February. Plus Joe Alexander is out for 3-4 months, not good. PREDICTION: 13th in the Eastern Conference.

World Series Preview

If you didn't remember or you are new to the blog, here was my thoughts on the who would be victorious in April.... "

"World Series: Philadelphia beats New York 4-3- It might because I think the American League is much more open than it has been in the last couple of years so there could be a lot of teams that make it out of the American League while on the other hand, the Phillies are the best overall team."

Well I cannot say I told you who you should have gambled on. The Yanks-Phils World Series is going to be a classic. There are so many sub-plots that already make it a great series even if its a short series. CC-Cliff Lee battle tomorrow should be an awesome game and the city of Cleveland will just idly watch Lebron play hoping that he isn't in another uniform next year. Pedro's supposed return to New York would be a monstrous occasion. He was so clutch as a member of the Red Sox and to come back to another postseason would be must see tv.

The other big subplot is which bullpen will fall apart? The Phillies have been great so far but all it takes is one big Alex Rodriguez homer in the 9th to tear Brad Lidge down. The Yanks have also had their moments of nervousness with their young bullpen. Phil Hughes and Joba Chamberlain cost the team Game 5 in Los Angeles and the pressure plus an even better lineup will make the situation much worse.

Does this remind anyone of the 1996 World Series? The Yankees, an on the rise baseball team facing off against the defending World Series Champions Atlanta Braves. Fairly reminiscence to those times, in my opinion because the Yanks look like they will be here for awhile int he postseason.

I will take the Phils to repeat in seven, I think they split in NY then take advantage in Philadelphia, then split once again in New York. Although it wouldn't shock me to see the Yankees the World Champions.

NFL Week Seven Wrap-Up

So my computer shitted out so I lost all my picks and I will tell you what I thought about all of the games today, also what will happen in tomorrow's game.

San Francisco-Houston- I picked the Texans to win this one and I didn't think they would do it in a dominate way. You also have to wonder if the Niners are the real deal with the Cardinals looking stronger each week and maybe the return of Alex Smith who knows.

Green Bay-Cleveland- Another blowout win for the Packers and two straight games with not allowing a touchdown. Pretty impressive. I liked that they established the run for the first time all year and the offensive line looked great. Will be an epic match up next Sunday in possibly one of the best sports days ever... (PHI-NY in both football, and baseball... plus Favre's return to Lambeau)

San Diego-Kansas City- I thought the Chiefs may ride off the emotions of last week and keep the game close. Phillip Rivers would have none of that and that once great defense finally looked like that team. Still have to do it against a big time team.

Indianapolis-St. Louis- Everything was as expected in this blowout. I am waiting for the Colts to play a real team though. They play in a suddenly weak division and once again, they need to play a Pittsburgh to prove their worth to me.

Minnesota-Pittsburgh- Ah the first Viking lost. The Antonie Winfield injury is going to hurt the team and the fact that Brett Favre has thrown more passes in each one of his games. Thats not good, fifty-one passes today with the best running back in the NFL. Also two redzone turnovers by Favre isnt good.

New England-Tampa Bay- Played over in London where Roger Goodell wants to have a team there and he wants more games there. Touchdown Tom was back again with three touchdowns and the Pats look in good shape.

NY Jets-Raiders- OOOOOOHHH MITTTCCHY!! JaMarcus got benched and the Raiders got back to their old ways of sucking. An embarrassing loss at home for them and the Jets get a little bit of confidence back.

Buffalo-Carolina- The Bills get their second straight win and their defense was tough again. The defense is keeping Dick Jauron in place so far. Also Jake Delhomme is bad, real bad.

Chicago-Cincinnati- Oh the Bears. Jay Cutler was once again not clutch and their defense looked completely exposed. The Bengals had an awesome game plan for the defense and Chad OchoCinco dominated the game.

Atlanta-Dallas- I was surprised to see the Cowboys blow out the Falcons and I really think I have to start believing that Dallas is a pretty good team. Also Miles Austin is becoming the new star of Dallas, not Roy Williams. My fantasy team would like to thank Roy for that.

New Orleans-Miami- How do the Dolphins give up 22 points in the fourth quarter? Just a complete collapse by them after having a 24-3 halftime lead. It showed resiliency by their defense.

Arizona-NY Giants- All the sudden the Giants have lost two straight games and the Cardinals look like their back to make a run at the playoffs again. Kurt Warner showed that he still has it and it could be another good year.

Also the Redskins aren't worth my prediction, the Eagles should roll.

NCAA Picks.

Nothing special today, I am tired and I have wrote enough to be considered Willie Shakespeare. Anyways if you wonder why doesn't Chuck write as much anymore? Well, its not because I hate blogging, I just have loads of school work on top of its a lot writing. Moooving on.

1. Florida-at Mississippi State- A game that I worry about for the chances of Florida winning a National Championship because they have lost three straight at Starkville and head coach Dan Mullen was the former offensive coordinator last year. Another one coming down to the wire and Tim Tebow gives them a late drive to remember. UF 34-31

2. Alabama-vs. Tennessee- The third Saturday of the October and the annual Tide-Vols game. This one shouldn't be that close though. The Vols have made some strides since the Florida game but not enough against Bama. BAMA 24-9

3. Texas-at Missouri- If there is any chance for an upset, I feel the Tigers can do it. The weather conditions will be bad and I have not been impressed with the Longhorns all year. I think the Tigers will get it done tonight in the upset of the day. MIZZOU 31-28

4. Boise State-at Hawaii- The Broncos got a favorable spot by the BCS and they are playing a pretty weak Warrior team. Despite on the road and the travel, they will be fine in this one. BSU 45-21

5. Cincinnati-at Louisville- Some are saying this has a chance for an upset but the Ville hasn't been relevant since Brian Brohm left. The Bearcats are missing Tony Pike whose out with injury but as I said earlier this week, Brian Kelly is a genius. CINCY 35-20

6. Iowa-at Michigan State- One game I worry about this most because I have just booked my weekend to Iowa City for the final weekend and this week could screw everything up for me. Kirk Cousins isn't clutch and they will fold in the second half. IOWA 31-17

4\
8. TCU-at 16. BYU- The Mountain West matchup of the year and the Horned Frogs could pave the road to a BCS bowl game if they win on the road in Utah. The Fightin' Chets will come through and dash the Mountain West dreams. BYU 24-21

9. LSU-vs. Auburn- LSU like the Buckeyes have raised questions about their quarterback and people are wondering if there is time for a change but Auburn has lost the last two, the wheels feel like they are falling off. LSU 21-10

10. Miami-vs. Clemson- The Hurricanes get back into the ACC this week and they are facing a tough running Tiger team with C.J. Spiller. Clemson hasnt had a signature win and Jacory Harris still is playing good football. MIAMI 28-14

11. Oregon-at Washington- Big time uspet alert. The Huskies have played very well at home and the Ducks have been playing no ones. Mitch Pratt will have to tell me if Jeremiah Masoli is playing or not, I will take the Ducks in a close one. ORE 23-20

12. Georgia Tech-at Virgina- The Yellow Jackets had a great win last week and have put themselves in a pretty good position. You have to worry about a letdown but the Cavaliers are a bad football team, it will be closer than expected. GT 31-21

13. Penn State-at Michigan- A classic Big 10 rivalry in the past with Braylon Edwards making a catch at the buzzer to win or the matchup of Tom Brady-LaVar Arrington where we all thought Arrington was going to be the better pro. I think the Nittany Lion defense is too tough for the young quarterback even at home, this will another close battle. PSU 20-13

15. Oklahoma State-at Baylor- Still without Dez Bryant, and the Cowboys playing another Big 12 cellar dweller that they shouldn't have a problem with even though its on the road. OSU 38-10

16. BYU-SEE 8. TCU

18. Utah-vs. Air Force-This one will not be pretty, the Utes have been steady since the lost against Oregon. They should win big again in this one. UTAH 42-17

19. Ohio State-vs. Minnesota- I have this feeling that the Buckeyes could be heading for a tailspin due to the fact Pryor's HS coach calling out Tressel's play calling and the whole "Lebron supports Terrelle" stuff, I think Pryor will come out rattled again. The Buckeyes pull this one out with a late field goal. OSU 16-13

20. Pittsburgh-vs. South Florida- The Bulls let me down last weekend getting thrashed by the Bearcats and now they head into Pittsburgh which will not be like Miami whatsoever. The cold conditions are going to make it a good day for the Panthers. PITT 21-3

22. Arizona-vs. UCLA- The Wildcats are ranked by the BCS and they have been good so far. Mike Stoops has done a great job rebuilding the program and the should be fine against a helpless Bruin team. ZONA 23-10

23. West Virigina-vs. UConn- My roommate Seth and I talked about this today dealing the death of Jasper Howard. He summed it up perfectly "Either they will play inspired or fall very falt." I hope they do it for Jasper. UCONN 28-24

24. South Carolina-vs. Vanderbilt- The Gamecocks stay in the mix even after the tough loss against the Tide the week before. Vandy isnt much of a team and the Gamecocks defense is tougher than nails. USC 24-3

25. Kansas-vs. Oklahoma- When would ever think the Jayhawks would be ranked over the Sooners? Interesting matchup heading to Lawrence where the weather will not be pleasant. I think Landry Jones will struggle and Todd Reesing prevails. KU 42-38

The Human Element of Sports is Gone

If you didn't see I added a few things to the blog, which are explaining who my editor is and letting you now search the blog for your favorite article. The great thing about having someone edit your work is they give you great ideas for other stuff to work and Mach really lit a fuse with me when asking me to discuss the referees.

We both agreed that it seems today in whatever sport the refs always seem to be the center of attention. One week in football we as a country have a problem with some ref who made some call that comes into question. Although one would argue that we have a nation who debates anything and everything with the outlets of sports talk, political radio, and the four 24 hr. news channels. It has to come to an end because it's starting to get ridiculous in the sports we all love.

Starting with Major League Baseball, you have a sport where judgment comes into play so much and now with plays like the "would-be Mauer double", people want instant replay at all times in baseball. Are you kidding me? As Mach said, "For the most part, the umps are right, I would say 95% of the time." I agree wholeheartedly, and also would like to make the point, why make a game longer than it already is? MLB games are three hours long and usually it extends to another half hour. I would tell you that no way I get out of Miller Park at 10:30 on most nights when the game begins at seven. Also there is the whole Yankee-Angel game on Tuesday, and my counter to that is the calls didn't make a damn difference in the result of the game.

I think football has the biggest problem with this because every week in college or the NFL, the refs are in question. They just suspended SEC refs for their personal foul calls in two games. Honestly, it is their choice to make that call, if they screw up you have the human element of being a ref. High School Football may be the purest form due to the fact that refs screw up all the time, and yes, they impact the game yet its the human element that's missing from every other sport. Refs in the NFL are so scared to make sure to protect the quarterback and other players therefore they make these bullshit calls so they do not come under fire. The hilarious thing about this is they come under fire anyways thanks to that call.

The only professional sport that has kept the human element is soccer. You might see controversial calls about red or yellow cards yet it's their decision. Why do you think soccer players bitch the most at the referees? After a call is made, there is nothing the team can do it about it. No red flag, no replay booth, nothing. Proof of this is the ass clown ref can get demoted leagues for allowing a goal that deflected off a beach ball, but that is a rare case.

Just keep the human element please

BCS Thoughts/Feelings

I really do not plan to make this a weekly feature but I feel with the first BCS standings out, we could take a look at each unbeaten teams. You have to think they will fall sometime so I am going to look at possible trap games for each team. Plus the chances they make the National Championship.

6. Iowa Hawkeyes- An unbeaten team whose been impressive in the last couple of weeks with big wins over Big 10 powers, Penn State, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Ricky Stanzi's progression as a quarterback in my opinion is a big reason why the Hawkeyes keep on winning. The defense has also been stellar, after giving up ten points to the Badgers early, the Hawkeyes shut down the run and the Badgers couldn't pass.
TRAPS: at Michigan State (10/24) at Ohio State (11/14)- Its been forever since the Hawkeyes have won at East Lasing and they seem to be improving. The Buckeyes are very tough at the Horseshoe but Iowa would be sitting pretty for at least the Big 10 title if OSU were to lose to Penn State, the week before.
CHANCES: B- The Big 10 is a tough conference this year and could see Iowa trip in one of these games although their chances for the Big 10 title are very good.

5. Cincinnati Bearcats- The Bearcats are the hot commodity in the Big East right now and this has been a common theme in past couple years with teams like Louisville/South Florida. The big concern is that Tony Pike might not play for the next couple of weeks. Although Brian Kelly is an offensive mastermind.
TRAPS: vs. UCONN (11/07), vs. West Virginia (11/13), at Pittsburgh (12/05)- Those are all hard games and with two at home really helps things out. I think there could be two losses there and once again if Pike isn't back, could be disastrous.
CHANCES: D, I think if they do somehow go undefeated then they deserve to play in the National Championship but I highly doubt that they will run through the Big East even though it isn't a tough BCS conference.

4. Boise St. Broncos- I am not huge fan of these mid-major teams and they have done nothing for the fourth spot minus winning. You might say Chuck thats the point but they are on a whole other level then the teams in WAC conference. They should play at least two quality Pac-10 teams to convince the votes in my opinion.
TRAPS: vs. Idaho (11/14), vs. Nevada (11/27)- Both of these teams are ahead of them in the standings but I really see they will not have a problem with either teams. Also these are home games therefore they should win by double-digits.
CHANCES: C- I honestly do not believe even if they go undefeated, they will be shut out from the National Championship and people will complain although they will get their asses kicked.

3. Texas Longhorns- Another team that I have no been impressed with all year. They seem to turn it on when they want to because usually they come on real strong in the second half. Colt McCoy also hasn't been impressed at all this season in my opinion. Teams like Wyoming, Colorado, and Oklahoma have hung around far too long.
TRAPS: at Missouri (10/24), at Oklahoma State (10/31) at Texas A&M (11/26)- All tough road games for the Longhorns and the Aggies aren't that good yet still a rivalry where they could turn it on.
CHANCES: B+ I really have a hard time believing that the Longhorns will be undefeated by the end of the year. The next two games will say a lot about Texas and if they show up win by 10+, I will be convinced.

2. Alabama Crimson Tide- The Tide have been rolling so far, people are starting to believe in Mark Ingram for a Heisman and their defense looks like the best in the business. You do have to wonder about a young quarterback but Nick Saban is easily a top five head coach in the NCAA. TRAPS: vs. LSU (11/07) at Auburn (11/27)- I think that Tiger game becomes very interesting with Gene Chizik wanting to make his stamp on the program plus LSU has those Saban feeling. Also the SEC Championship would be huuuuuuge.
CHANCES: A- Basically here is how I see it... the SEC Championship is a play-in game for the National Championship. They came so close to beat Tim Tebow last year but it seemed like Urban Meyer had Saban's number though.

1. Florida Gators- They have shown no signs of stopping down and the Gators are having some problems on offense with no receivers getting open for Tim Tebow. I believe it's unfair to call him the Heisman right now with the lack of production so far. Their defense could be the best in that nation plus one of those defenses we remember for years.
TRAPS: vs. Georgia (10/31) vs. South Carolina (11/14)- I think the whole Spurrier angle is huge and the fact, they came close against Bama (bad play calling hurt them a ton). Georgia is an always interesting rivalry game to see what happens.
CHANCES: A, No more challenging road games left and they have the toughest stadium in the nation with the Swamp. I think the Arkansas game was a let down and I think the Gators will roll there way to the SEC Championship.

My roommate E proposed what happens if Alabama/Florida unbeaten and the game is 31-28 something like that. Would the computers be convinced to keep them in the top spots? This happened with Florida-Florida State years ago and many would hate this as a National Championship. There will be people proposing it. My pick... USC-Florida.

VANDER BLUE.

There are many things that start a great week on Sunday... One of them would be finding out that the top recruit in the state of Wisconsin for next year is headed to Marquette after spurning the Wisconsin Badgers last March.

Right now Vander Blue is the twenty-second rated recruit in the nation so far and it could grow if the Blue has a huge year in his senior year. He is a great looking guard being 6'4 and 185, he is a great slasher and can score from all spots on the court. The other great thing about Blue is he seems like a great kid. He wanted to stay at Wisconsin or Marquette for his mom so she can come to all the games and has a real open mind about how the game is being played. People have discussed his grades, but to me at almost all universities, they find ways to make sure they are playing in the Fall.

People have to realize that Marquette is slowly becoming this recruiting haven because of Buzz Williams. He was Tom Crean's go-to guy in the final years of Crean at Marquette and he is bringing in talent all over the country. Also there is some chatter about Marquette getting 6'6 Tarik Black whose ranked #15 in the nation right now and if that happens, could the Golden Eagles have a top ten class in 2010? They will have a stacked back court in 2010 and even this year could be very familiar to the first year of the big three. The Golden Eagles still need to do something in the postseason but I am pleased with whats going on so far.

Lets talk a minute about Wisconsin. I am not going to laugh or make fun, just say this... Are you worried yet? I would be if I am a Badger fan because Bo Ryan isn't getting the same recruits and guys do no want to play in the Swing system anymore. He needs to adjust his system to attract better recruits. You could say Ryan isn't in the Top 5 in terms of recruiting in the Big Ten anymore. I think two years ago, only Tom Izzo and Bruce Weber were better.

NFL Picks Week 6: Where We'd Named our Child Falcon Too

If you don't why that is relevant then you really don't deserve to live. Good news its a better week than last and the Green Bay Packers are back to play. Also my roommate Nate is going to game and I am taking odds whether he will be running naked at halftime or third quarter.

St. Louis (0-5) at Jacksonville (2-3)- I told you last week that I wasn't ready to jump on the Jaguars bandwagon and the 41-o drubbing they received showed it. Maurice Jones-Drew is also suddenly unhappy, good thing they have the Rams to boost morale. JAX 31-10

New York (5-0) at New Orleans (4-0)- Oh how I wished I had DirectTV, this game should be a classic for multiple reasons. One it will prove to us how good the Saints really are on both sides of the ball. We have seen what they can do against a rookie quarterback, lets see about a Super Bowl winning one. Also the Giants haven't had the toughest schedule either and because of that, I will take the Saints catching them off-guard in the dome. NO 28-23

Carolina (0-4) at Tampa Bay (0-5)- We go to a battle of the unbeatens to a battle of the winless. This game will showcase the bottom of the barrel in the NFC South and the Panthers should win this ball game. People are really starting to get on Josh Johnson's bandwagon but I don't think the Bucs have enough. CAR 14-10

Baltimore (3-2) at Minnesota (5-0)- Great game on Sunday and one that will really prove if Brett Favre is the real deal this season. This is the first tough as nails defense he has seen all year and it's put up or shut up time. The Ravens I think come in hungry off two losses and steal one in the dome. BALT 24-21

Detroit (1-4) at Green Bay (2-2)- The Packers have won I believe 18 straight against the Lions at home and it shouldn't change on Sunday. They are talking about Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson both being inactive, which will result in a big time Packer win. GB 35-13

Houston (2-3) at Cincinnati (4-1)- A very interesting game because you have a tough Cincy defense that has been tested somewhat already although Andre Johnson is another specimen. Plus the Texans once again are in that must-win category. But the Bengals have been clutch in the fourth all year and the weather will not be nice, Who Dey pulls away in the fourth. CIN 31-21

Cleveland (1-4) at Pittsburgh (3-2)- The Steelers have beaten up on the rival Browns for the last couple of years and I do not see why things will change on Sunday. Derek Anderson only completed two passes last week against a solid Buffalo defense, what happens when he faces better defense, zero? PITT 38-7

Kansas City (0-5) at Washington (2-3)- The Redskins should be 4-1, that sounds weird but their last four games have been against winless teams and this week is unlike any other. So much turmoil in DC you wonder if they can figure it out. I feel they play uninspired and the Chiefs get a victory. KC 21-14

Seattle (2-3) at Arizona (2-2)-Big game in the NFC West as the Seahawks try to ride the momentum of a blowout road win into another victory. Kurt Warner looked very solid but remember that was on two weeks rest. I think he will look sluggish again and the Cards struggle. SEA 28-17

Philadelphia (4-1) at Oakland (1-4)- Oh this one could get ugly. Mitch has started a "Get JaMarcus out of there" campaign and the Raiders look like they could give a shit. Donovan McNabb and the boys have fun out there. PHI 35-3

Buffalo (1-4) at NY Jets (3-2)- The Bills are bad and Dick Jauron's days are winding down in upstate New York. Now they face a tough Jets D with the interception happy Trent Edwards and a pissed off Rex Ryan, rut roh. NYJ 31-10

Tennessee (0-5) at New England (3-2)- The Titans cannot catch a break but I really have to wonder why we haven't see more Vince Young. It could happen this week because Tom Brady should have a field day with this secondary. NE 38-17

Chicago (3-1) at Atlanta (3-1)- The Falcons reminded all of us that they are still a good ball club and should be a force to reckon with. The Bears have had two weeks to prepare for this game and last year's was a classic. I think you see a shootout with the last team having the ball wins the game, I say Falcons. ATL 38-35

Denver (5-0) at San Diego (2-2)- We talked a lot about Denver earlier in the week and I am a firm believer in this team. But Phillip Rivers has been known to be lights out against Denver in his career so far. Its going to be an interesting game but I think the injuries catch up to the Chargers. DEN 23-13

College Picks: Showdown City

I think this is a big week of college football that I am going to miss thanks to getting drunk all day enjoying homecoming festivities that Eau Claire has to offered. Hopefully, I will catch a couple of the games from time to time.

1. Florida-vs. Arkansas- The Gators had a tough nose game against LSU and the Gators if you remember slipped up against an unranked SEC West team last year. I do not think the Razorbacks will be a problem for Tebow and company. UF 35-10

2. Alabama-vs 22. South Carolina- There are a lot of people who are big believer in the Tide and some even think they are the best team in college football. This will be a defensive struggle and I think the Tide should be just fine. BAMA 24-10

3. Texas-vs. 20. Oklahoma- The annual Red River Rivalry and the ultimate match up with Colt McCoy vs. Sam Bradford. The Sooners haven't proved to me yet that they can be back in the driver seat in the Big 12. While the Longhorns have done the same thing. This will be a real interesting game and I like the Horns' experience in a close one. UT 34-24

4. Virgina Tech-at 19. Georgia Tech- This is a big hurdle for the Hokies to clear if they want to contend for the National Championship. The Yellow Jackets have gotten in together as of late and I think it willl be a close battle. Tyrod Taylor should be able to will them to victory. VT 31-28

5. Boise State-at Tulsa- defeated Tulsa 28-21 on Weds- I didn't feel like doing my picks early because Thursday is the earliest time that I want to do it and the Broncos are not a top five team, which they showed last night.

6. USC- at 25. Notre Dame- The Trojans have owned the Fightin' Irish and this game has so many other things than its just a game. Jimmy Clausen's Heisman hopes ride on this and Charlie Weis' job may be saved with a win. I am not calling for an upset but this game will be down to the wire. USC 28-24

7. Ohio State-at Purdue- The Buckeyes showed me something last weekend against the Badgers and they will be missing star running back although that shouldn't matter because the Boilermakers are really bad. OSU 38-17

8. Cincinnati-at 21. South Florida- Talk about an ultimate Chuck's Corner Upset Alert. The Bearcats have played one real good team and the Thursday Night curse has to be taken into effect. The Bulls also went into Tallahassee and beat Florida State. USF 24-21

9. Miami-at UCF- They get a cupcake in this one even though its a road game, the U should be fine. Jacory Harris will be able to pad his stats a bit and get it done. MIAMI 45-13

11. Iowa-at Wisconsin- I think the Hawkeyes are the best team in the Big 10 right now and I think Saturday game will prove it. They will face a rowdy/drunk crowd that will want Iowa blood but the Badgers are historically bad against them plus their defense will take OSU game plan. IOWA 23-10

12. TCU-vs. Colorado State- Some people feel that the Horned Frogs have the best chance of being a BCS buster or even playing in the National Championship?! Their defense is tough and they will have no problems with the Rams. TCU 31-14

14. Penn State-vs. Minnesota- I believe this the battle for the Little Brown Jug and this will not be much of a battle. The continued screw ups by Adam Weber is hurting the progression of this team and the Nittany Lions know they need this win. PSU 28-13

15. Nebraska-vs. Texas Tech- The Cornhuskers have been lying in the weeds somewhat and got a big win on the road last weekend. They face a Red Raider team who hates playing away from Lubbock and Saturday will not be different. NEB 38-20

16. Oklahoma St.-vs. Missouri- I got burned by the Tigers last weekend and I think they have a chance in Stillwater with them missing Dez Bryant although the Cowboys are more than Bryant and get it done late. OSU 38-31

17. Kansas-at Colorado- Boulder is a tough place to play but I do not forsee an upset going on here. The Jayhawks have a potent offense and the Buffs do not have the defense to stop them. KU 35-10

18. BYU-at San Diego St- The "Fightin Chets" get another easy Mountain West opponent and I think they will blow out the lowly Aztecs. BYU 45-6

20. Oklahoma-see 3. Texas
21. South Florida- SEE 8. Cincinnati
22. South Carolina-SEE 2. Alabama

23. Houston-at Tulane- The Cougars have fallen back down to earth and they are playing a pretty easy opponent in the Green Wave this weekend. HOU 41-6

24. Utah-at UNLV- The Runnin' Rebels have given up 63, and 59 points in the last two weeks. I do not think this bolds well for them against the Utes this week. UTAH 56-21

25. Notre Dame-SEE 6. USC

LCS Picks Where the Nation Endures Chip Carey & Joe Buck

Here are the picks for the final four of baseball. I think even though there were sweeps during the division series I thought the playoffs were off to a good start. The Cardinals-Dodgers had a lot of competitive games and the Twins-Yankees was also a great series despite the sweep.

NL
Philadelphia Phillies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers- I think this has the makings to be a great series because you have a team in LA who might not have a better time then now to win a World Series. In addition, they have a solid bullpen, which is like having a great offensive line in playoff football. The Phillies have this great offense and Cliff Lee has proven already he can take a team on his back yet their bullpen is still shaky. I could care less what you say about Brad Lidge two saves in the first series, he is still Lidge aka better version of Derrick Turnbow. I would like to pick LA but I have to stick to my guns at the beginning of the season. PHILLY in six

AL
Los Angeles Angels vs. New York Yankees- The Angels played great in the first series and so far has been getting thrown under the table so far. No one realized how good their pitching staff is and Torii Hunter has been playing out of mind so far. You can tell he wants a ring and they have a lineup of guys hitting .300. The Yanks have Alex Rodriguez now hitting out of his mind thanks to Kate Hudson and now they become a true threat. I worry about the three-man pitching staff but CC Sabathia looked impressive in the first series. None of those pitchers struggled and its a big risk for Yanks if they lose. I think New York offense is too tough for anyone. NY in five.

Nobody's Worse Than Stephen Jackson

You want to talk about someone I cannot stand right now. Look no further than Mr. Stephen Jackson of the Golden State Warriors. That guy is basically saying to the media, David Stern, and anyone else that wants to listen "Hey this is me flushing my career down the toilet but because I make a ton of money there is nothing you can do about it."

He is worse than Ron Artest and Stephon Marbury were COMBINED. Jackson has absolutely lost his mind and I really see no way in coming back. There were talks over the off season that he wanted to be traded and wasn't a huge fan of coach Don Nelson. This sort of stuff happens a lot though and usually it finds its own way of working out. That didn't happen in this scenario. Jackson decided I am going to keep rebelling for the sole reason of he knew the Warriors would still have to pay him.

In case you're wondering what Jackson has done... Well he doesn't like his teammates, he got five fouls in ten minutes which included a technical, and he thinks being a captain is overrated. Jackson must be hitting the bong pretty hard these days if he believes that crap. Being a captain is something everyone in every sport looks to do and it means a great deal of pride if you are one. He is a headcase and will continue to be a headcase all year.

In some ways though, this isn't all Jackson's fault. No way should Don Nelson still be the coach of that team, he doesn't work well with the guys he has and there is need of a change. No way should Golden State has overspend on a guy (Jackson) whose practically been a role player all his career for playoffs team. He has never been the star of the team and that's what the Warriors hope to make him. They must have forgot he was a part of the Artest Melee in the Palace. That guy, that same headcase. Golden State cannot bitch for not seeing the writing on the wall.. they have to fall on the sword.

NFL Hates the Rush

One of the bigger stories in the past couple of days is the fact that the NFL wasn't a fan of Rush Limbaugh taking part ownership in the St. Louis Rams. While I think is unfair and everyone in America has a voice (freedom of speech), I can understand Commissioner Roger Goodell point. His reason was pretty simple

Divisive comments are not what the NFL is all about," Goodell said. "I would not want to see those kind of comments from people who are in a responsible position in the NFL. "Divisive comments are not what the NFL is all about," Goodell said. "I would not want to see those kind of comments from people who are in a responsible position in the NFL." (via Chicago Tribune)

Goodell is obviously worried that Limbaugh will say something leading into a foot in a mouth situation for the NFL and he doesn't want to have deal with the pressure the Reverend Al Sharpton and Reverend Jessie Jackson bring to the table. Which in my opinion is complete bullshit because I have no idea how a guy like Jackson who talked down about Jews can have opinions on race? Doesnt seem fair to me.

The other unfortunate thing about Sharpton/Jackson, they would convince African-Americans to not play for the Rams and well, you really cannot field an all-white football team expecting to a.) win and b.) draw controversy. I am not saying that would happen but it would be likely players would speak out against Mr. Limbaugh. Also I hope that neither of those two ever want to buy an NFL team because they shouldn't be welcomed either into the league.

The one point I do want to share from my roommate and beloved guest of Chuck's Corner E... "Players can talk about how great (President Barack) Obama is and they get praise for it, then one conservative wants to own a team leading to a sort of revolution." You do have to wonder what our standard on politics in the NFL. If you are going to allow one thing but not another then a standard needs to be made. It's fair that these guys have opinions but they aren't Rhodes Scholars, it's a bandwagon thing. I would like to see how many NFL players who were outspoken about our President made it out to the polls to vote... I bet the number is slim.

-Charlie.

PS: I promise no more politics haha.

Orange Crush are Back

Well I am wrong again. This happens a lot when you make a ton of predictions but no excuses made. I made this comment... "With everything that has happened and that is continuing to happen, isn't inevitable with that schedule Denver will be drafting top five? I think so." I took the Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders ahead of them shoot me now. Both of them are worst off than someone who pisses off Hank Moody.

I honestly cannot believe how successful the Broncos have been so far and it's not like they are beating cupcakes in the NFL. I thought there is no chance that Kyle Orton can actually lead a team to be a playoff contender or maybe.... a Super Bowl Contender. But I really should have looked at it more closely, I mean McDainels was apart of a team that made Matt Cassel into a star last season. Orton wasn't horrible in Chicago and the other thing he never had a receiver like Brandon Marshall. I still think the guy is a thug but he can play football. Marshall is as physical as anyone in the league and he makes plays unlike most in the NFL right now.

The other thing the Broncos have going for them is a punishing 3-4 defense led by Elvis Dumervil who moved to OLB, a shift that some haven't made that smoothly (paging Aaron Kampman) and then corner back Champ Bailey has been stellar showing signs of his great play in years past. The defense is the real reason why the Broncos are off to a 5-0 start.

The final thing the Broncos have going for them is a young, energetic coach. I hated the Broncos for beating the Packers in the Super Bowl but honestly, I cannot hate no longer. I love the emotion Josh McDainels showed after beating the teacher last weekend and he is a guy I would absolutely love to play for.

Confused in Wisconsin

College football is a hard thing for me. I am a fan of the game of football but when I really do not have a knock-down favorite team to cheer for, it makes it a bit harder for me to get excited about it. The way I guess I choose my teams is based off the players/coaches and usually it changes every couple of years. Call me fair weather, call me whatever but its just the way I look at it. My favorite college team is the Marquette Golden Eagles and they have no football team therefore it makes life very hard on me.

Some would say the obvious answer is the Wisconsin Badgers and my ten-year old self would have agreed with you although they are becoming hard to cheer for without Barry Alvarez roaming the sidelines. I have a big problem with Bret Bielema and I think that influences my thoughts on the Badgers. I think he is a coach who just worries about coaching football and not the outside issues like grades and off the field troubles. He just implemented a GPA rule after three years of coaching and the players go to a school that is tougher than hell to get into as a normal college student. Yes the off-field problems is a problem with many universities but it really feel that it happened a lot for the Badgers in the past couple of years.

I still hope that the Badgers do well and are successful because they are the only team in Wisconsin at the division one level so I feel as a proud resident I should cheer for my state. But I grind my teeth to watch the special teams screw up countless times including Ray Small's run back which was the dagger to the Badgers last weekend. In addition, I have problems with Paul Chyrst play-calling and still wonder why broadcasters are calling him a "genius". I think we would have figured out Montee Bell is the better #2 than Zach Brown because Bell is such a quick runner while Brown is basically the same back as John Clay. That will spread out teams more and lead to better results on offense.

They were 5-0 but in true Badger fashion, they played a cupcake schedule which the past Badger teams could do then be ready for a team like Ohio State who in my opinion isn't the best team in the Big 10. For the first game, their running game was halted and Scott Tolzien had to be the X factor, which he isn't ready for. They now have to deal with the vaunted Iowa Hawkeyes whose defense has been one of the best all year and I would recommend the spread instead of the smash mouth because Michigan put up 28 points against them while others haven't sniff that number.

The final thing I will say is I like the Badgers but I just have more reservations than I have ever had in any years in watching Wisconsin. They make me question things more than ever, I guess this is what it was like for people who hate Ned Yost as Milwaukee Brewers manager.

NFL PIcks Week 5: BOOOORING

What an awful week for the NFL. There is about one game that excites me and that's about it. The NFL did an awful job for me as a football fan, way to go.

Cincinnati (3-1) at Baltimore (3-1)- This is one of the more interesting games this week and Chad OchoCinco has promised that he will do a "Ricky Bobby" dance if scores. I hope he does and I think the Bengals can pull off a mild upset. CINCY 24-17

Carolina (0-3) at Washington (2-2)- The Panther-Redskin excites me about as much as doing 400 math problems. This will be a boring and I will take the home team in a relatively cold game. WASH 21-3

Cleveland (0-4) at Buffalo (1-3)- The Bills may be a worst team than any of us thought with putting up an awful performance against the Dolphins who were starting a virtual unknown and I think Derek Anderson can rite the ship. CLEV 28-13

Pittsburgh (2-2) at Detroit (1-3)- The Lions are without Matthew Stafford and they are playing the tough as nails Steeler defense. I think there is no way Big Ben lets this team lose this game and they will be just fine. PITT 27-9

Dallas (2-2) at Kansas City (0-4)- Some people are calling this their "upset pick" and I really dont see it, yes Arrowhead is a tough place play but the Chiefs are really bad. The offensive coordinator thing is coming back to haunt them and Tony Romo puts up big numbers against bad teams. DAL 31-17

Oakland (1-3) at NY Giants (4-0)- How easy has the Giants schedule been? Minus beating Dallas on the road, they have played the sisters of the poor for the last couple of weeks. They will win once again but be an inflated 5-0. NYG 34-10

Tampa Bay (0-4) at Philadelphia (3-1)- The Eagles get Donovan McNabb back this week and they honestly do not need him in this one. People are real high on Josh Johnson but please, the Eagle defense will make him look like a high school quarterback. PHIL 35-14

Atlanta (2-1) at San Francisco (3-1)- This is another good game this week that I will not be seeing but anyways, the Falcons have had a lot of time to be prepared. The Niners on the other hand have looked dominate on the defensive end of the ball. Should be a good one. SF 17-14

Houston (2-2) at Arizona (1-2)- The Cards are in a must-win game situation and the Texans looked very good on defense last week. I really think time is catching up to Kurt Warner and its going to show again today. HOU 28-20

Seattle (1-3) at Jacksonville (2-2)- Interesting match up that the city of Jacksonville will not see the game and Matt Hassleback comes to back from an injury. I am not ready to jump the bandwagon of either team and I will take the Seahawks by a field goal. SEA 24-21

New England (3-1) at Denver (4-0)- The Patriots have been taking out the unbeatens every week and now they face a Bronco team whose ferocious on defense. They also will be battling snowy weather. I think like in anything when its "Teacher vs. Student" you have to take the teacher. NE 17-13

Indianapolis (4-0) at Tennessee (0-4)- The Titans are struggling and they should consider Vince Young as a breath of fresh air. Although, it probably won't matter with how bad the Titans pass defense has been, oh yeah they are playing Peyton Manning. IND 38-20

NY Jets (3-1) at Miami (1-3)- We will be watching a game that features only five starts by the respective quarterbacks of each team. It could be ugly for lack of a better words and the Phins really need this win. I think Chad Henne will be rattled by the blitz heavy Jet D and get ugly NYJ 27-10

The Ruins Run-Down With Coach Ep. 2 Part 2

For more Ruins, read part one. We get into who we liked and a bit of a preview of next's week episode enjoy.

Coach: Who is your guy of the week?
Charlie: Evan for the soul reason of this... "We are not letting Katie go because she sucks. and Syrus because well he needs a break"
Coach: i cant give it to evan, he had a heart to heart with wes
Charlie. They get into it next week
Coach: I mean all this shit talk...and they sit down and eat ramen noodles i dont get that
Charlie: Thats true

Coach: i vote for tj for his comments
Charlie: TJ!!!! has to be, He was the only one worth a damn this week minus Wes
Charlie: Doucher of the Week: Johnny? For flinching when Wes looked at him
Coach: johnny deserves the first d bag of the week
Charlie:he deserves number two
Coach: i mean first of all to not have the balls to let a girl pick her own person to take into the ruins then he was legitimately flustered when she came at him. I have to agree with wes...who pushes a girl
Charlie: yeah that was awful, i wished Evie would have decked him

Coach: but when wes came in and punked him to his his face...johnny says its not worth it? For $2800 thats what he has in the account right now...im just sitting there dying...like hit him
Charlie: haha 2800 that is like a month of work
Coach: i know...i think what they fail to realize is if they actually worked they would be able to make over 3rd place a year money every year

Charlie: Kelly-Anne gets points for just being hot.
Coach: Kelly anne is like the one girl in seinfeld it depends on the light
Charlie: you should see the aftershow, she looks great
Coach: i mean she looks smoking hot in some of the scenes...then there is some where you look at it and you are like wow who are you nice skin globes though

Coach: i mean when did you think you would have a season when brad was boring, i mean i think they just put him on camera every once in awhile to let us know he is alive still
Charlie: my roommate was shocked he didnt win a challenge I told him "Brad is the Susan Lucci of the Challenge scene
Coach: hahhahaha...that is great i was going to go with the buffalo bills but that might be better

Coach: i think johanna will end up doing kenny or johnny or maybe both together one night just to put that knife even deeper in wes
Charlie: yes Eiffel tower, Wes just loses it, drops a stunner
Coach: i also would like to thank nick as they are pumping him up for a challenge which these guys make seem is like climbing to the top of mt Olympus he is sitting there enjoying a taped out Heineken or rolling rock in a can
Charlie: "YOU CAN DO IT, BEAT WES, he is just sitting there, I could care less

Coach: its things like that that make me love these shows...they talk like this is the nfl or nba or mlb
Charlie: i mean its the fourth sport tho
Coach: i agree...i watch this more than i watch the nba or hockey
Coach: if i could i would have a fantasy league in this I mean there would be so many formats you could go

Charlie: Simmons did a whole podcast on this, they drafted teams
Coach: i know...simmons and i see real eye to eye on this one
Charlie: i dont know enough about computers to make this happen online where we could get points
Coach: i think you write into simmons and ask him to think about this, Thats what he gets paid for

Coach: i heard that the format for the spring is fresh meat 2 without road rules i like it
Charlie.: start weeding the Road Rules out, I enjoy it The only one worth a damn is Ibis
Coach: i give this episode a lower score than the premiere mainly because of how it ended

Coach: Alright...later chuck
Charlie: until next week, later

The Ruins Run-Down With Coach Ep. 2 Part 1

These are the weekly talks I have with Coach, we made some STEEEVE calls earlier and now we are knee deep in the ruins.

Coach: anyways...The Ruins
Charlie: yes and i apologize for deleting it last week, i fucked up
Coach- that is okay...i thought you covered the majority of the convo
Charlie- me as well

Coach: this week...i have to admit a lot of swirling winds of controversy
Charlie: anyways, my roommate wanted Evie to stay just so her/Wes could raise complete hell. Your thoughts
Coach: first of all i thought that might be the weakest challenge i have ever seen... it was like going on a tire swing
Charlie: yes and the fact that Shauvon's fat ass couldnt even get to the fence is great

Coach: the best was danny is like ready to feed her fatness to the whales...and then all of a sudden she tries it twice and he like clicks on the...man i think she tried even though that tub of lard just swung in and immediately dropped
Charlie: hahaha yup she just fell like a sack of potatoes
Coach: never should be let on another challenge
Charlie: yes she shouldnt

Coach: the challengers team is so bad...
Charlie: so bad, nothing is working for them
Coach: i mean i think the producers must be giving them the plot
Charlie: well thats why they brought on Wildcard Wes and you know the Evan/Veronica hookup will stir things up next week

Coach: i mean if you couldnt see that johnny and kenny were going to keep messing with wes than you need to put on a bike helmet and get on the short bus. What i dont get is this...why would you get all mad if you were evelyn and not try
Charlie: they will keep pushing until he punches one of them in the head
Coach: i mean she went bat shit crazy, it looked like zambrano from the cubs
Charlie: She was best friends with Kelly-Anne haha. Played it up big time, maybe a lesbian hookup I wouldnt put it past her

Charlie: just throwing shit everything, lights, the kitchen sink everything
Coach: i mean a total melt down...booting lamps, kicking shit...i would vote her for female of the week but i dont like the fact that she didnt even try i mean who doesnt want to totally destroy a friend in competition??
Charlie: i think Wes fired her up and she thought she got to pick plus Johnny screwed her in the Island. The best was TJ Lavin called her out, didnt get a "You killed it"
Coach: you know when tj calls you out it was pretty pathetic...i mean i think with all his bmx crashes and rock star lifestyle that he isnt exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer

Charlie: yes, she knows I think now that she fucked up
Coach: i would like to know what tj does all day
Charlie: probably eats bon-bons, has multiple hoes and just doesnt care
Coach: i assume he goes and gets happy ending massages in the local whore house

Charlie: maybe take the BMX for a spin "Man real hard workout today, took the BMX around the yard."
Coach: exactly...i think they should focus more on tj if this thing becomes a blowout which i see happening...sure wes will throw missions but other than brad and dunbar who on that guys team is going to knock someone off?
Charlie: Cohutta that guy has fight
Coach: i forgot about him

Charlie: danny will just talk shit then puss out
Coach: the only good thing about danny would be if melinda and him made a pam anderson and tommy lee style tape. I mean she is smoking
Charlie: yes this would be a great idea. Simmons has always wondered why five of them havent just said screw it and made a sex tape. Also this comes from his Twitter, your thoughts... You're either the bitch or the slut on TV. Never be the slut." Words to live by from Katie Doyle! http://bit.ly/HkOeh Oh My God.

Coach: that is awesome...
Charlie: Also Katie started this magical journey at age 21 she is now 30, oh wow
Coach: i still think the old...i just got engaged and i needed to come here
Charlie: yes and try to win more money
Coach: was the best thing i ever heard
Charlie: that will be blown on bullshit

Coach: speaking of money...i nominate johanna for how ruthless she is
Charlie: cold bitch
Coach: but i think her calling out the i will sell your house and you wont get a cent was the best thing i have heard on a reality show
Charlie: its in the Top 5 easily. She just pulled the rug from underneath him
Coach: i was so proud of her...i mean i just really really really found a new low point in challenge history - the old ill just screw you out of 300, 000 priceless
Charlie: yes she goes "I learned from the best" boooooom

NCAA Week Six Picks: Celebrating 600

I cannot believe that 600 is already here. I know I haven't posted as much but its a really busy semester. I will try my best to keep you updated on everything. I hope to have Brewer grades and where the Crew should go next year.

1. Florida-at 4. LSU- The big will he or won't he question has been there all week about Tim Tebow and he is still isn't cleared to play. I think he will play but Meyer will wait until the very latest so Les Miles cannot game plan. I think this will be a battle with the Gators coming out on top late. UF 28-24

2. Texas-vs. Colorado- The Buffs are bad once again and you have to wonder if our favorite coach Dan Hawkins is under fire? Well maybe he will be after Colt McCoy lays a lickin' on them. TEXAS 42-16

3. Alabama-at 20. Ole Miss- I am putting the Tide on Upset Alert, I think this will be a close defensive battle and they are missing stud linebacker Tim Hightower which could really affect them. I think the Tide squeak one out but it will not be pretty. BAMA 20-17

4. LSU-SEE 1. Florida

5. Virgina Tech-vs. Boston College- The Hokies had some problems with Duke last week and BC got a big win against Florida State last week. I do not see an upset brewing in Blacksburg this week. VT 28-14

9. Ohio State-vs. Wisconsin- Upset Alert II, I think the Badgers have somewhat be disrespected so far this year. They have had some nice wins to put them in the bottom half and they almost beat the Buckeyes at home last plus they always play well at the Shoe. Bucky will come close again but heartbreak is one the way. OSU 21-14

10. TCU-at Air Force- The Horned Frogs are becoming the new BYU to me, they just get one my nerves and with that being said, playing a Falcon team whose not bad. I will pull for the upset. AF 34-28

11. Miami-vs Florida A&M- The U off a fresh win against the Sooners, they will not have any issues disposing this opponent. MIA 45-0

12. Iowa-vs. Michigan- Could have been there with JS but the drive was too taxing. I really think the Hawkeyes are playing the best Big 10 ball so far and their defense will confuse Tate Forcier all game long. IOWA 20-9

13. Oregon-at UCLA- The Ducks have discussed letting LaGarrette Blout back on the team and I am all for letting the "Ron Artest of College Football" rejoin us. The Pratts shouldn't have that much difficulty in this one, the Bruins are banged up. ORE 31-17

14. Penn State-vs. Eastern Illinois- A nice break from the Big 10 for the Nittany Lions as they should steamroll in this one. PSU 49-3

15. Oklahoma State-at Texas A&M- The Cowboys are facing a big time distraction with the ineligibility questions with their prime time receiver Dez Bryant and head into tough Kyle Field. The Aggies got smashed by the Razorbacks last week so they haven't proven anything yet. OSU 35-21

16. Kansas-vs. Iowa State- The Cyclones haven't shown much this year and the Jayhawks have been looking great on offense so far this season. I do not see anyone stopping Todd Reesing. KAN 41-13

17. Auburn-at Arkansas- The Tigers have made me look like an asshole after I called them out for hiring Gene Chizik. It looks good so far with the spread offense and they will be going up against one of the originators. Should be a good battle but I take the Tigers by a FG. AUB 20-17

18. Brigham Young-at UNLV- I really wonder what happens when the Fightin' Chets head to Las Vegas, I am sure they just lock the hotel room and stay there. No matter, they will get the win for sure. BYU 35-7

19. Oklahoma-vs. Baylor- I believe Sam Bradford will be absent from this game as well but it will not be an issue with the Bears being without their stud Robert Griffin, blowout city. OKLA 42-10

20. Ole Miss-SEE 3. Alabama

21. Nebraska- at 24. Missouri- Big time showdown rivalry tonight with the Tigers showing recent domination of this series after losing twenty-four straight. We do not know much about either team so this will be a good barometer. I will take the Tigers at home. MIZZOU 27-23

22. Georgia Tech-at Florida State- Oh boooy. This is a huge game for the Noles if they lose the pressure will be raised on Bobby Bowden to new levels and I can see it happening. The Yellow Jackets will pull away in the fourth. GT 24-14

24. Missouri- SEE 21. Nebraska

25. South Carolina-vs. Kentucky- The Gamecocks move into the Top 25 after their win against Ole Miss and they have looked really good on defense. I feel the Gamecocks should have no worries in this one. USC 24-10

Crabtree Finally Decided to Join the Bay

The Michael Crabtree drama is over and I think all of us couldn't be happier. Crabtree signed with the San Francisco 49ers today to a six year deal. He was listening to the wrong people all throughout the process and Crabtree was pissed about the fact he wasn't the first wide receiver taken in the first round.

The one thing I do wonder about the whole signing is if the 49ers had been 0-4 or 1-3 does this deal get done? I honestly feel Crabtree did not want to play for a loser and wanted a big city to spread his name. I liked the guy a lot in college but can we all agree that he is a part of the next group of headcase wide receivers? The only reason why he might not get there is because Head Coach of the Niners Mike Singletary.

I do not see Crabtree having a significant impact this season but I think next year he will flourish. I think the Niners are the favorite to win the NFC West right now and I think they could be for a long time with the amount young guys they have.

Trouble in Tallahassee

The big story in the last couple of days has been the uprising of Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden after the Noles have started out 2-3. I myself am not a huge fan of Bowden but I feel this something that needs to happen on his own terms.

The reason this all started was because a heralded booster (surprise, surprise) said that Bowden should resign at the end the year and this team has going downhill in the last ten years. Lets see here, 6 ACC Champions and a National Championship. Plus only two years which happen to be in 06 and 07, did the Noles not win eight games in a season. I find in absolutely absurd that they feel Florida State needs a change to make their team better.

In addition, think if Florida State came back to beat Miami in the opening game this season. The whole season for the Noles probably would have changed. The other thing I would like to bring up is the fact people wanted Joe Paterno out of Penn State after he had a couple bad years during the mid 2000 and now his team hovers around the top of the Big 10.

Whose Ready for the Four-Hour Drama?!

In my opinion, I enjoyed the baseball playoffs a lot because it is very simple and clear cut plus there have been those years where every game has been an absolute classic. Who can forget 2003 with the Red Sox losing to Aaron effin' Boone and the Cubs losing thanks to Steve Bartman. Then in 2004, you have the Red Sox epic comeback along with the Brad Lidge game against Albert Pujols. Here are the picks for the first round of games.

NL
Colorado Rockies vs. Philadelphia Phillies- This is probably the least exciting series out of the four for sure and I really feel that this series could go either way. Colorado has struggled with left-handed pitchers this season, which isnt a good thing when they are facing Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels in the first two games. But here is the kicker, if the Rockies keep it close they get to face the arguably the worst bullpen in the playoffs right now. We all know how Colorado are the comeback kids. I am taking Philly because I have rolled with them all year might as well stick to it. Wont be easy though. PHI in 5

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Dodgers- Everyone is talking about the Cardinals going to the World Series and I have been saying that since early July. The pitching staff they have, add the offense, and they play pretty good defense too. I really cannot find a chink in their armor. It also tough to pick the Dodgers when they have struggled all second half but never count out Joe Torre/Manny Ramirez. STL in 4

AL
Minnesota Twins vs. New York Yankees- Honestly, the game tonight that the Twins won was epic. They were down a bunch of times and just battled back consistently. Now they play a Yankee team who has looked strong on the offensive end but you have to wonder about their starting pitching. Also CC Sabathia has been less than stellar in the playoffs. The Twins are the hottest team and the recent trends have signaled that leads to a big playoffs. The big spenders get it done though. NYY in 4

Boston Red Sox vs. Los Angeles Angels- Now this has been an absolute bashing whenever these two teams get together and the Sox have came out ahead every time. I feel like Mike Scioscia tends to choke when the playoffs are on the line in the past couple of years. The pitching staff of the Sox will be the difference in this one, they have the experience and they know how to handle this opponent. BOS in 4

Oh Man.

I really don't know what to say tonight. I mean I thought the whole week into the night was going very well and we were derailed by the Minnesota Vikings. You can say "Well its only a seven point defeat" but that doesn't even begin to describe how things went especially in the second half.

The first thing we have to look at is the offensive line was like a Spanish bullfighter just doing a big fat ole the entire game. They were helpless the whole night and I worry that Aaron Rodgers will be hit more than a crash-test dummy by week 8. To make matters worse, Daryn Colledge went out with an injury and you have Mark Tauscher lifting waiting for a team to sign him him in Madison, Wisconsin. This just has to happen now especially if Colledge is out for even a week. Eight sacks is inexcusable for an offensive line at any level... HS, College Football, and no doubt about it the NFL.

The other thing that has to be addressed that the two turnovers plus one goal line stand in the Green Bay scoring area (30-35 yards heading into the end zone). The first I would put a bit on Aaron Rodgers and the O-Line but there are a lot of lineman who struggled with Jared Allen. If the Packers score field goal or touchdown before the Vikings, it might have sway the entire ball game. The second one all on A-Rod on the ten yard out that was picked by Jennings. First off, the only thing I agree with Monday Night Football cast most of the night (They were all over Favre's junk the whole night, got annoying) that play call should have never been called. The final one, we should have went with an A-Rod sneak on 3rd and Goal instead of a pass call.

I really do not want to talk much about Brett Favre because he will be over everywhere on ESPN and other places the next couple weeks. Favre played his ass off. He tore apart the secondary more so Al Harris but I hope people do not jump back on the Favre bandwagon. Remember, no quarterback at the age of 40 has won a playoff game ever. He will break down because its a long season and the Packer run defense will be studied for weeks on how to stop Adrian Peterson.

Don't worry Packer fans its only Game Four. Two back in the division in October doesn't mean as much as November.

Week Four NFL Picks

The reason we are early with the picks is because I will be without a computer all weekend in Stout and if I remember enough, I will have a running diary from the visit with my roommate E. Also the Packer-Viking game will be covered on Monday in a big article but I will tell you the score here.

Detroit (1-2!) at Chicago (2-1)- The Lions have finally done it, there were some tears and a lot of joyous celebration. The Bears could be filed under the luckiest team so far this season but the young Matthew Stafford will have trouble with the Bears D, no doubt. CHI 27-10

Cincinnati (2-1) at Cleveland (0-3)- These games are usually in the high 40s for some reason but with Derek Anderson as the new quarterback, there will be more turnovers then a small town bakery. I can only hope for a sweet Chad OchoCinco dance. CIN 38-14

Seattle (1-2) at Indianapolis (3-0)- The Colts have looked like they haven't missed a beat without Anthony Gonzalez and Tony Dungy now take on a banged up Seahawk team. Also add to the fact, its a noon start and west coast teams don't do that. IND 35-20

NY Giants (3-0) at Kansas City (0-3)- The Giants once again get another cakewalk game playing one of the worst teams in the NFL and they should have no problem dominating in this one. NYG 28-3

Baltimore (3-0) at New England (2-1)- These are the weeks that I wish I had DirectTV because I will probably see DET/CHI and SEA/INDY. I would much rather see this game because I think the Ravens are unproven and the Pats always seem to have their number (won the last four). It will be a classic in Boston on Sunday. NE 31-28

Tampa Bay (0-3) at Washington (1-2)- Now for my own entertainment to see the Skins lose to Tampa who couldn't find offense in the Texas Tech playbook that would be just awesome. I cannot see it happening but don't expect a blowout. WASH 17-6

Tennessee (0-3) at Jacksonville (1-2)- We discussed the Titans earlier in the week and this is a complete must-win for them. The Jags have been okay but nothing really has come out of their team yet. I think the Titans roll in this one. TEN 34-13

Oakland (1-2) at Houston (1-2)- The Texans lose this one then they might as well kiss da baby. The Raiders have a quarterback who isn't ready and the match up of the day has to be Andre Johnson versus the Raider secondary. Close until the fourth. HOU 24-13

NY Jets (3-0) at New Orleans (3-0)- CBS IF YOU LOVE ME... PLEASE LET ME SEE THIS GAME. I had to bust out the caps because this is the one game I would love to see minus the Pack/Vikes. I like both teams but I think the dome factor will rattle Matt Sanchez plus Darrelle Revis cannot do it all. NO 27-20

Buffalo (1-2) at Miami (0-3)- The Phins need this one bad and the Bills need to hope that T.O. wakes up from his coma this week although I thought he was the winner against the media this week. I think the home team gets done this week. MIA 24-10

St. Louis (0-3) at San Francisco (2-1)- Rough one for the Niners last week but this is the perfect team to play. They shouldn't have an issue with the Rams. SF 38-17

Dallas (2-1) at Denver (3-0)- It's time to find out if the Broncos are for real and you have to think they have the crowd behind them in this one. The Cowboys get Marion Barber back, which is big time trouble for the home team. DALL 24-21

San Diego (2-1) at Pittsburgh (1-2)- I am amazed the Steelers are under .500 but Troy Polomalu absence has to be having an effect on them. I almost like Phillip Rivers to tear up their secondary but cannot go against the Steelers in a night game. PITT 24-17

Green Bay (2-1) at Minnesota (3-0)- More to come on Monday but 28-24 Packers.

-Charlie.

Week Five College Football Picks

Here you go with your daily dose of College Football picks....

3. Alabama-at Kentucky- The Wildcats proved last week that they are only good at knocking out quarterbacks that seemed indestructible. The Tide should roll in this one. BAMA 31-10

4. LSU-at 18. Georgia- Usually the Bulldogs are known for their defense but this year their offense has been awesome which I would credit to the growing offense line. The Tigers have a great D but I feel they will fall to the Top 5 curse looking ahead to Florida. UGA 24-14

6. Virgina Tech-at Duke- Interesting game but the Dukies lost to a FCS team so that should be the writing on the wall. Also if you dont know who running back Ryan Williams is for the Hokies, get use to it. VT 38-17

7. USC-at 24. California- Both teams have been dealing with many things such as the Stefon Johnson injury and the thirty-nine point beating the Bears were handed last week in Autzen. I think Coach Carroll rallies the troops in this one and they win it for Stefon. USC 31-21

8. Oklahoma-at 17. Miami- The Hurricanes finished their tour of the Top 25 this week and thankfully, they will not be seeing Sam Bradford. I think the U got humbled last week and I do not believe in Landry Jones whatsoever. MIA 28-17

9. Ohio State-at Indiana- "Chuck's Corner Upset Alert II" staying in the Big 10 as well. I think this game is very interesting, the Buckeyes are missing Bam Herron and the Hoosiers should have won in Michigan last week. Late field goal for the Buckeyes to win it. OSU 23-20

10. Cincinnati-at Miami-OH- The Bearcats have vaulted to the top 10 with only one significant win. But Tony Pike is the real deal and they could make the typical Big East push into the National Championship discussion. CINCY 45-20

12. Houston-at UTEP- The Cougars are all the sudden in the Top 15... what? This has all the making of a "Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct" crazy type of year with a C-USA team in the Top 15. They win this week too. HOU 49-21

13. Iowa-vs. Arkansas State- We have covered the Hawkeyes a lot in the past couple of weeks and their defense will dominate in this one for sure. IOWA 48-3

15. Penn State-at Illinois- The Nittany Lions are out for revenge after last weekend and I think this will not be a problem even without Sean Lee. The Illini just dont have it this year. PSU 34-14

18. Georgia-SEE 4. LSU

20. BYU-vs. Utah State- The Fighting Chets are now into the grueling schedule of the MWC and meaningless non-conference games like this one. Should be a blowout. BYU 45-14

21. Ole Miss-at Vanderbilt- The Rebels had some time to find themselves after the tough loss to the Gamecocks and it should be for the better in another road game. OLE MISS 28-9

22. Michigan-at Michigan State- "Chuck's Corner Upset Alert" It has to be with the Spartans coming close against the Notre Dame and Wisconsin on the road in the last two weeks and now its a home game against their biggest rivals. Tate Forcier leads a late drive for the win. MICH 35-31

24. California-SEE 7. USC

25. Georgia Tech-at Mississippi State- Interesting game after the Bulldogs were a goal-line stand from beating LSU last weekend in Starkville. We all know that the SEC is better than the ACC and this will prove it. MISS STATE 27-21
