If you didnt read your daily ESPN Headlines today, you would see that our favorite headcase Chicago Cub Milton Bradley has complained that his strike zone is bigger than others because of his argument with umpire Larry Vanover. Give me a break.
I told all of you that Milton Bradley was a bad idea during the baseball offseason and Cub fans loved the idea because they need a powerful left-handed bat in their lineup. All of the fans believed that ole "Sweet Lou" Pinella would be able to control Bradley's attitude and he would stay healthy in the friendly confines.
Well none of that has happened. This is Bradley's second big time complaint this year already and we havent even got the month of June. Number one was the Chicago media was too harsh on him to start the year off and now he complains about the overall strike zone to the Chicago media. I have good odds that Bradley will do something crazy like he does almost every year. It would not shock me in the slightest to see him go "Ron Artest" style into the crowd.
In addition, this isnt good for the Cubs right now who going into today have lost seven straight games and are now sitting at 21-21 for the season. They have made moves like getting rid of Mark DeRosa, Kerry Wood, and Rich Hill/Felix Pie. Those are all guys who contributed to the Cubs last year and why fix things when they arent broke? Kevin Gregg, their new closer looks like the new Eric Gagne and the Cubs are still not convinced that Carlos Marmol is ready to be a closer. This next week will be critical for the Chicago Cubs.
