K-Mart and Cubes Need to Hug it Out

One NBA playoff story that has been hanging around like the ginger that no one wants at the party is the Kenyon Martin-Mark Cuban beef. It began with Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks tell Martin's mom that her baby boy was a "thug." Then K-Mart was jaw-jacking with the fans throughout game four and it felt like a Ron Artest situation was in play at some times. After that, it led Cuban to apologize to Martin and his family on his blog. That wasnt good enough for Mr. Martin as he said this today via ESPN.com

He's a coward," Martin said about Cuban, according to HoopsHype.com. "He couldn't face it. You all read the only apology that he's made [on his blog]. "The world got to see it before the person who it was meant for got to see it. That tells you how that goes. I ain't never known nobody apology to somebody through other people." Well then.

Cuban's response? We got that too... "I would also like to know if Kenyon is going to take responsibility for his actions rather than hiding behind 'no comment,' " Cuban wrote. "Will he apologize to the wife of our staff member that he called a [expletive] fat pig' immediately after Game 3? Will he apologize to fans that he threatened to, and I'm paraphrasing here, '[expletive] beat the [expletive] down' during Game 4?" Once again well then.

This is a classic battle of people just trying to make the other one look worse. The stuff about Martin doesnt shock me because he does come from the great University of Cincinnati which we all know doesnt breed model citizens all the time. Also Martin has the Los Angeles Lakers to worry about not Cuban and if his head isnt on for the series that isnt good for the Denver Nuggets. Cuban also was caught pushing a cameraman which wasnt really talked about but he wasnt happy after the game 3 defeat. Both of these guys need to let it go for the rest of the playoffs and if they want to continue the beef next fall then so be it.
