St. Louis Gets DeRosa... Damn.

No Brewers Weekly post this week, I have been working quite a lot and havent been watching as much Brewers as I would like to. This week its much of the same so thats quite unfortunate but I do want to talk about the trade that went down over the weekend.

The Cleveland Indians who are looking worse than Major League in the beginning of the movie and it need of Rick Vaughan ASAP decided to deal Mark DeRosa, their prized pick-up of the off season to the Cardinals for Chris Perez and an unknown player. DeRosa has been tearing the cover off the ball this season with his numbers (.263 13 HR 60 RBIs) so far and has been known for destroying my Milwaukee Brewers. Also DeRosa will now come full circle to face the Chicago Cubs who getting rid of DeRosa was the single worst move of the off season.

Now saying all of this the Cardinals have lost the last three games since DeRosa has arrived and they have fallen two games behind the Milwaukee Brewers. Although in the long run, I think the Cardinals are looking stronger with DeRosa but here is my question for Cards fan... Is DeRosa a fourth hitter? Albert Pujols who hit 29 and 30 homers today but he recieves no protection behind him whatsoever. DeRosa is not the answer to protect him in the four hole, he will be better in the two hole if the Cards want success.
