Stephen Curry did big things at mid-major by getting his team in the Elite Eight last year but his younger brother Seth wanted more. About a week ago, he announced that he would transferring from Liberty because I think he believed that Liberty couldnt amount to what Davidson did for Steph.
Today, he chose Duke which will make a huge impact for the Blue Devils in 2010-11 and I wonder if he will become a hated player like most people do when they play at Duke. Coach K broke it down today explaining that Curry would be very valuable on that team with Nolan Smith at that time being a senior and Elliot Williams will be a junior. So you would likely see Curry come off the bench in his sophomore year which will be lethal to have his three point shooting.
On the other hand, you will not see Curry averaging 20 a game right out the gate for Duke. He will be controlled by Coach K but I honestly can see him having a "JJ Redick" impact on the Blue Devils with his three point shooting ability. Redick was able to single-handily be a difference maker just because of his three-point shooting and the most consistent player from the line. Curry is a good player and I am not saying that he will end up being a NCAA National Player of the Year although does he have the ability? You bet your ass he does and being at the main stage with Duke, he will have that opportunity.
In my opinion, this was a great decision by the Blue Devils to get a player whose already proven in the NCAA.
