Trade Deadline Just Boring...

Well nothing special happened during the trade deadline but I will just break it down for the hell of it probably make fun of most deals.

LA Lakers and Memphis-Chris Mihm goes to Memphis for draft picks- This has got to suck for Chris Mihm because he is going from one of the best team in Los Angeles and now he is in Memphis. God that must suck.

Sacramento and Chicago- This was probably the biggest deal of the trade deadline. Chicago gets Brad Miller, and John Salmons. Sacramento gets Andres Nocioni, Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons, and Michael Ruffin (traded to Portland today for Ike Diogu). Miller is a space-eater but he isnt a guy whose going to make a difference although Salmons could do some big things for the Bulls. They are not a playoff team but only a couple games out. The Kings are just trying to blow up the team and start over; lets hope they get some wins.

Sacramento and Minnesota- Another deal between a couple scrub teams and just proving that the Kings are trying to blow up their team. Sacramento gets Rashard McCants, and Calvin Booth. Minnesota gets Sheldon Williams and Bobby Brown. The Kings get an unhappy McCants who hopefully can try to make a name for himself in the NBA because he was one of my favorites at UNC. The Wolves get Sheldon "Fix your head" Williams who gives them someone inside with Al Jefferson but thats really it.

New York and Oklahoma City- Knicks get Chris Wilcox's expiring contract and the Thunder get Malik Rose. Thats all you really need to know about this one.

New York and Chicago- New York gets Larry Hughes and Chicago gets Tim Thomas. This is the "Former top-10 draft picks that didnt pan out." I think that Thomas should give the Bulls some scoring off the bench and Hughes will fit well in NYC with a team that doesnt play defense.

Orlando, Houston, and Memphis- The Magic receives Rafer "Skip to my Lou" Alston. The Rockets get Kyle Lowery and Brian Cook and the Grizzlies receives some draft picks. I think this helps Orlando out now having a true point guard for Jameer Nelson and can really find the big man inside.

Other than the Salmons deal, none of these deals will make a splash for the rest of the year. Once again, a boring trade deadline after the whirlwind of last year.

-Charlie.
