Marquette Wrap-Up at Georgetown

Well here it is a couple days late.... Really no excuses just except for me being lazier than all hell. To be honest, its been slow sports time but the NFL Offseason starts off later this week plus a Mock Draft by the end of the week.

Marquette is now 1-0 in the five game Big East gauntlet after a great victory against Georgetown 78-72 on the road Saturday afternoon. Here are some thoughts...

-The first thing that needs to be said is Marquette's defense in the second half was fantastic. They forced multiple turnovers and I believe for most of the second half, Marquette had forced more turnover than Georgetown had field goals.

-Jerel McNeal is a Big East Player of the Year and an All-American candidate because he fills up stat lines like no other player in the NCAA right now. He is having multiple rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks every game. In addition, McNeal had the prettiest pass to Jimmy Butler to seal the game.

-Wesley Matthews' three point shooting is something has been very under looked all year. He is shooting 39% from the three point line this year and now has hit six threes in the last two games.

-Floor slaps were at all time high for the game. The numbers were astronomical really. It also could of been because the night before, we were on Suds team and my buddy Ben screamed LETS GO consistently late in the four quarter of an NBA Live game.

-I will give more thoughts on the UConn game in my weekly post in the next couple of minutes.

- Charlie.
