College Basketball- All Weekend Long

Games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday so it shall be very good weekend for basketball grouped with the All-Star weekend (coverage on the MIA-TOR trade tomorrow).

1. Connecticut-at Seton Hall- The Huskies are not without Jerome Dyson for awhile with a torn lateral meniscus which is a huge loss for them but I really dont believe it will hinder their chances against the Pirates. I dont think this will be a game by about the ten minute mark in the second. UCONN 82-64

2. Oklahoma-vs. Texas Tech- I hope Pat Knight knows how to throw chairs because after this game, he might need it. They face Willie Warren and Blake Griffin on Saturday who will likely tear them to shreds. OKLA 91-64

3. North Carolina-at Miami (Sunday)- The Tar Heels took care of business on Wednesday night at Duke and now they head to the U to face a Hurricane team whose good but not great. They couldnt close the Blue Devils, can they close the Tar Heels? Doubt it. UNC 81-74

4. Pittsburgh-vs. Cincinnati- Where on earth have the Bearcats come from? They are 7-5 right now and I watched them in early January get their asses kicked by 44 by Marquette so I dont know what to believe. They have a good inside presence in Yancey Gates who can bang with DeJuan Blair but Deonta Vaughan is their only perimeter guy therefore it results in a close loss for Cincy. PITT 68-62

5. Duke-at Boston College (Sunday)- Wow do the Dukies have a tough schedule right now? They go to Boston where they have always had trouble yet seem to escape with a victory. They need to bounce back strong against the Eagles while they need to boost their resume. I think Duke comes fired up and the Blue Devils take care of business. DUKE 79-66

6. UCLA-at Arizona- The Bruins once again got beat the Sun Devils last night and now have to face a solid Wildcat team who has played well in the past couple of weeks. They could use a good resume win like this although I think UCLA is too tough to loss two straight games. This will be a slugfest though. UCLA 69-63

7. Louisville-vs. DePaul- The Cardinals got their asses absolutely handed to them by Notre Dame on Thursday so they should be fiery going into this game against the Blue Demons who havent won a Big East game all year. LOUIS 83-61

8. Wake Forest-vs. 25. Florida State- Wake like a couple others in the Top 25 has lost two straight and I believe the Demon Deacons are showing their age right now not beng able to go through the dog-days of February. The Seminoles are trying to prove they belong in the ACC discussion and they need to win this one to convince the doubters. Wake gets it done but barely. WAKE 84-82

10. Memphis-at Southern Miss- How on earth is this game on CBS? Just showing the C-USA love I guess. This is sort of a rivalry in the conference but the Tigers looked very impressive in their game against Gonzaga last weekend. This should be a tough one but they will break through with a victory. MEMP 84-76

11. Clemson-at Virgina (Sunday) Yawn another boring game from the weekend, the Tigers will take care of business as they have seem to all year. CLEM 83-68

12. Marquette-vs. St. Johns- Oh how bad do my boys need these next two upcoming games. This is a critical one for the Golden Eagles as they face a Red Storm team whose lost their last 6 of 8 and is 0-6 on the road. Time to make a statement. MARQ 85-62

13. Villanova-at West Virgina (Friday) I could easily see this as a trap game for the Wildcats especially after I sung their praises. Honestly if they can hit the three; they shouldnt have any problem with the Mountaineers. I think Nova has enough fire power to withstand against West Virgina throws at them. NOVA 78-74

14. Xavier-vs. Fordham Suddenly, the X has lost two straight games and now doesnt look like the team we thought they were. They play a weak Ram team who they should just roll on for revenge. XAVIER 82-65

15. Butler-vs. Illinois-Chicago (Friday) Butler is just staying around the top 20 and the Horizon League compared to the rest of the NCAA is like Khloe Kardashian to his sister Kim. The Bulldogs should roll once again. BUT 69-53

16. Kansas-at Kansas State- Just like Mizzou, another big rival and another road test for the young Jayhawk team. They looked complacent on Monday night when they got a big lead but they slowly faded as the night progressed letting the Tigers win. The Wildcats have came on strong as of late and this is a must-win for them. I dont see it happening, but it will be close. KANSAS 71-68

17. Utah State-at Boise State- As you all are probably wondering.. who the hell is Utah State and what are they doing in the top 20? Good question but they have won sixteen straight and thirty-one at home straight. Too bad this one isnt at home for them and I would put them on Upset Alert for the weekend. The Aggies take care of business late in the game. USU 69-60

18. Arizona State-vs. USC (Sunday) The Sun Devils are the most confusing team out west; they are able to take care of business against the Bruins yet they lose meaningless games in the Pac-10. They face a Trojan team whose been less than stellar therefore a team who could take the Sun Devils to the limit. Close but no cigar. ASU 64-59

19. Missouri-vs. Nebraska- Another rival for the Tigers as they already took down their biggest one and now they look to take down another one in the Cornhuskers. If Nebraska gets this win; it will help their NCCA cause two-fold but I doubt it. MIZZOU 79-71

20. Illinois-at Indiana (Sunday) Once again why is CBS showing this piece of shit basketball? This will be a blowout because Tom Crean doesnt have the weapons to beat their rival from the FIB state. The Illini will roll. ILLINI 72-47

21. Gonzaga-at San Francisco- The Zags despite their defeat by Memphis; they have been the best team in the conference so far and now face the Dons who are the worst in the team in the conference so this will be a disaster for them. ZAGS 80-61

22. Syracuse-vs. Georgetown- Big time game for both teams right now and this is the rivalry in the Big East throughout the years. I dont know if Greg Monroe can be stopped in the paint and at the same time I worry the Hoyas wont be able to contain the Orange on the outside. I will take Cuse' because of that. CUSE 81-75

23. Purdue-at Iowa- The Boilermakers are showing some life again without Robbie Hummel after beating Penn State and now face Iowa who shot themselves in the foot really against Wisconsin giving up a seven point play to end the half. The Hawkeyes do play well at home but the Boilermarkers are too tough. PURDUE 66-50

24. Washington-vs. Oregon- As Bill Simmons says to his buddy Jack-O, I will do it now to Mitch... OOOOOOOH MIIIIIIITCCCCCHY!!!! The Ducks are now 0-12 in the Pac-10, they will not come close to beating the Huskies on Saturday. WASH 82-59
