College Basketball Weekend

Well here is the weekend slate of games and here are my thoughts... I realized that some of these teams play on Thursday, dont worry I will wait until their game is over until I make a predication for next week.

1. Connecticut-vs. South Florida- Well you have to figure that the Huskies are going to be pissed about Monday and also because the Bulls cannot win if they arent in Miami. Still pisses me off that we lost to them. UCONN 84-59

2. Oklahoma-at Texas- I dont know if I want to consider the Longhorns on the bubble but they could use a victory such as this one but heres the deal they have no one inside to bang with Blake Griffin which will result in a loss. OKLA 75-67

3. North Carolina-at Maryland- The Tar Heels took care of business earlier this week against NC State and now head to College Park where the Terps need a win so bad to keep them on the bubble. Its too bad that they will fall off the bubble on Saturday. UNC 89-65

4. Pittsburgh-vs. DePaul- Here is the situation.... The Blue Demons are awful and the Panthers are a good team meaning they will win. PITT 78-52

5. Michigan State-vs. Wisconsin- This is a big time rivalry and it has increased with the whole Bo owns Izzo which Coach Ryan great record against the Spartans. The unfortunate thing for the Badgers is that the Spartans are coming off a bad loss and they will played inspired. MSU 69-61

6. Memphis-at UTEP- What a surprise the Tigers are in the top 10 again and why you ask? Simple, they play in the C-USA. Now this is a good team in the Miners who could pull off the upset but lets face it, no one in the C-USA is athletic as Memphis. MEMP 83-71

7. Louisville-at Cincinnati- The Cardinals were able to wear down Providence earlier on this week and now face the Bearcats who are in need of a signature win. They could do it against their former C-USA arch-rivals. Right now, the Ville has done nothing but win so they will continue to do it. LOUIS 81-71

8. Wake Forest-at 9. Duke- This is part two of the rivalry which feature the Demon Deacons winning on a last second basket at home. The Dukies need this win bad and I think I will take a Caoch K team who needs a win over a young Demon Deacon team. DUKE 79-76

10. Missouri-at Colorado- Really they are this high now? Thats insane to me but I guess they have come on strong in the last couple of weeks. This is a trap game where I could see a team whose been reading their press clippings and I think this one will be close with the Tigers pulling it out late. MIZZOU 78-75

11. Marquette-at Georgetown- First off sorry for no wrap-ups but I was busy with school work. Now the Golden Eagles begins the five game gauntlet which starts in DC. The Hoyas desperately need this win but Marquette ran them into the ground already this year which they will do again. MARQ 83-72

12. Arizona State-vs. Arizona- The Sun Devils are unbeaten when facing their rival while ranked but this Wildcat team is playing some of the best basketball right now. My concern with Zona right now is do they have anyone able to handle James Harden? I dont think they do so the Sun Devils pull it out. ASU 69-64

13. Clemson-at Georgia Tech (Sunday)- The Tigers let me down last week by losing to Virgina but now they face another mediocre team in the ACC. They should win this game in a blow out for sure. CLEM 82-64

14. Villanova-at 25. Syracuse (Sunday)- This is a huge Big East showdown with both teams needing a win but I really think this game could be an upset because Nova doesnt have the size inside to beat the Orange. CUSE 89-84

15. UCLA-vs. Washington State- The Bruins picked up a good win against the Huskies on Thursday and now they have the Cougars who have been up/down all year. I think UCLA will be able to get done by the end of the game. UCLA 69-57

16.Illinois-at Ohio State (Sunday) The Illini suffered a disappointing loss to Penn State by only putting up 33 points... really? Yeah they cannot get any points and dont deserve to be in the top 20. The Buckeyes will prove that point on Sunday. OSU 57-51

17. Xavier-vs. George Washington- The Musketeers suffered a bad loss at Charlotte on Thursday and look to respond on Sunday. They need to regroup and this is the right team to do it against. XAVIER 71-53

18. Kansas-vs. Nebraska- The Jayhawks are still trying to recovering over the loss to the Tigers a week ago and they are dealing with a Husker team whose very good at home but awful on the road so in turn the Jayhawks should win. KANSAS 79-65

19. Washington-at USC- The Huskies head into southern California where they need a big win. On the other hand the Trojans could use a big resume win for them so it goes both ways. I think the Huskies are too good to lose two games in a row. WASH 69-63

20. Gonzaga-vs Pepperdine- The Zags are still playing strong in the WCC right now and they play a pretty weak Wave team right now so they will be able to get it done on Saturday night. ZAGS 81-60

21. Purdue-vs. Indiana- First off, Robbie Hummel had a lower back stress fracture, how on earth is he playing? Anyways, my prediction holds true that the Boilermakers are a different team with Hummel play and now they face the Tanned one which will be a blow out. PURDUE 68-49

22. Butler-at Davidson- The big time showdown in the Bracket Buster Saturday. This could be a big win for both teams and I really think that Davidson dominates if Stephan Curry healthy but even if he doesnt play, I believe the Wildcats can win. DAVDS 70-62

23. Utah St.-at St. Marys- The Aggies have been surprised team for the season so far and now they are playing a Gael team without Paddy Mills right now so I think Utah State can steal a win here but still playing on the road is tough. USU 67-62

24. LSU-vs. Auburn- The Tigers have been the only team that is worth a damn in the SEC right now. They play an alright Auburn team but nothing special so they should be able to pull away late in the game. LSU 78-69
