The Miami Heat has been put in an awful position in the past couple of weeks because their first round pick in the 2008 NBA Draft Michael Beasley has checked himself into rehab for substance abuse. There were rumors of marijauna when Beasley showed off his new tattoo when in the background their appeared to be two small plastic bags which people speculated was weed. Then Beasley said on his Twitter... "I just dont feel like living, its not worth it anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Now if you were a fan of Michael Beasley which I would consider myself one, you had the idea that he might have like to hit the bong once in awhile. Which honestly in the NBA isnt that big of deal see Josh Howard and others in the past couple of years. Another sign could of been the video package called "Mike and the Adventures of his Ipod", you would totally understand. I remember talking to a guy who played alot of AAU ball around the area said "Beasely was stoned all the time during the tournaments, it was pretty well known in the basketball world." This also fits into the category of someone whose too young, immature to be on his own.
I hope Beasley is able to bounce back because he really does have a true talent yet this could be something that continues through on his career. The NBA drug testing policy is almost as bad as Major League Baseball therefore I doubt that he gets caught by the league. Good luck Michael I hope it goes well.
