Well the Brewers once again got their asses kicked last night and the management decided that a shake up was needed. They made three big moves that I will all dissect for you today.
1. Bill Castro: "You're fired."- The Brewers decided to get rid of the long time bullpen coach and first year pitching coach Bill Castro today. The Crew have the highest E.R.A. in the starting pitching rotation and they rank in the bottom five in many categories. I wasnt a huge fan of Castro getting the job in the first place because to me and others he seemed like a lifetime bullpen coach. The Brewers at least admitted they screwed up and promoted AAA Nashville pitching coach Chris Bosio. It will be interesting to see if the Brewers make any progress with Bosio and if not, he will be gone likely then they will got outside the organization.
2. JJ Hardy Heads to the Minors: A fan favorite especially with the ladies, JJ Hardy is now going down to the minors only two years after being an All-Star. He has been not good all year unless he was in the second spot which even being at there he wasnt that good. Although I will give Hardy the benefit of he hit a lot of hard shots right at the outfield. We were all waiting for JJ to have a month tear like he did the last two years and it didnt happen. Now Alcedes Escobar is up and its his turn to show what he can do.
3. Bill Hall is Released: I wrote about my utter hatred for Bill Hall in early July which has somewhat changed with his new approach in the last couple of weeks but still it was a move needed to be done. Yes 10 million dollars is alot of contract to eat but it is much needed. Hall will not be missed by most fans and the crowds will still come because they believe the Brewers still have a small chance to get to the playoffs.
