LDT Having an Empire State of Mind... What?

Sorry for the cliché title but it's 3 am so that's what you are getting. Before we discuss the NCAA tournament, I have to talk about the two big things that happened in the NFL Offseason then we can discuss the Madness.

It's funny but Adam Schefter told the world "Don't doubt Rex Ryan convincing LaDainian Tomlinson to play for the New York Jets."  This was on the heels of learning the Minnesota Vikings were damn close in signing LDT and he even left with a jersey. That brings me to the question of what will be done with that Viking jersey, hopefully thrown in Atlantic Ocean.   Although, Ryan did deliver LDT I cannot say I agree with the move to bring him into New York even for a cheap price.

The main reason I cannot seem to understand why the Jets bring in Tomlinson is because they just got rid of the leading rusher in the NFL Thomas Jones who is practically the same running back as Tomlinson.  Granted, LDT can catch the ball but did they really upgrade?  I would agrue probably not, Shonn Greene will be the number one running back and Tomlinson will assume the number two.  This also would lead me to believe that Jones isn't a great guy to have around in the locker room.  Think about it, the Cardinals gave up on him, the Bears quit too, and the Jets believed in Greene/Leon Washington who might I add is coming off a season-ending knee injury.

My firm belief of why Tomlinson took the Jets offer rather than the Vikings is because he feels they are the closest team to winning a Super Bowl.  Additionally, they brought in Tomlinson's teammate Antonio Cromartie.   But Tomlinson has said from the get-go that he wants to win a championship, and Ryan convinced him that Sanchez will be better, their defense will be better, and Tomlinson will have a helluva line to run behind.  Also he is flashy dude who loves the attention, the draw of New York City and a new stadium definitely played a part in bringing him to the Big Apple.

I have said it once, and I will say it again.  The Jets are the new favorite in the AFC East and with the New England Patriots letting their problems continue add in the Jets getting better... It results in a power shift for the first time in a decade.

spot on this doubt that this is much of an upgrade if any at i agree this prob means jones is bad in the locker room plus he really faded down the stretch and if he based where he would go who was closer to a championship if favre comes back their equal
