Sorry I am late once again, big ups to Trinko, a consistent reader of the Corner who informed me that Clifton was signed late Friday. I think the money we paid him was the right amount and I do worry about him staying healthy although I think it will turn out good for us.
Dunta Robinson CB: HOU to ATL- I like this deal for the Atlanta Falcons because they get a legitimate cornerback who cannot only cover the big receivers but they can also come up on run defense deliver the big hit. I think he has been underrated because he has been played in Houston who really hasn't been some to keep your eye on.
Aaron Kampman DE: GB to JAX- I am really not disappointed about Kampman leaving... I wish him the best he is a class act and I hope he has an awesome career with the Jaguars. Although, I hope that he doesn't get comfortable in Jacksonville because they are moving locations some time soon. He will beneficial playing in the AFC and in 4-3 again. I think he should have a good year for the Jaguars.
Antrel Rolle FS: ARIZ to NYG- I am kind of confused by this deal. Correct if I am wrong, but don't the Giants have a pretty good free safety in Kenny Phillips? The only way the signing makes sense if the Giants are planning to move Phillips to another spot in the secondary. Rolle is a good player and seem to finally be understanding how to play free safety after a couple years of a transition process. I think Rolle will make an impact on an improving Giants' defense.
Karlos Dansby: ARIZ to MIA- Once again, the Cardinals have lost another great player on their defense and you have to wonder how they good will they be next year? The Dolphins have the luxury of knowing Dansby can play in the 3-4 and he does it very well. He is two times the player than Joey Porter is and is much younger.

Could Care Less About a Pursuit of Perfection
Well I need to give you my picks for the weekend's games about the NFL and thankfully, the NFL Network is carrying both of the undefeated teams in the early part of the football weekend. I am not thankful that I have to go to either the Doz's house or a bar to see the games although I am glad because it gives me a chance to rant about how much I hate now when teams go towards to perfection.
Its awful. We have two NFL teams, the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts are making their push towards a perfect unbeaten season, which doubles the chances that one of those teams will actually go unbeaten for the regular season. This also means that we have to see Mercury Morris, and Bob Griese plus different members of the 72' Dolphins team. The only reason why I would like to see the Saints or Colts do the unbeaten season is to see Morris go away for good. Officially burying his 15 minutes of fame because personally, no one I hate more than Morris in terms of pseudo-NFL celebrities.
I am not a fan of the undefeated seasons (see 2007 rant) because ESPN and other sports networks work round the clock to compare the schedules seeing if the teams can really do it. Why not just go by a week-by-week basis dissecting the games the Colts/Saints play and then break it down like usual game win or lose? No that would be too easy. Now this isn't half as bad as the Patriots run for the unbeaten season for a couple of reasons... a.) There are so many other things going on the sports world, no one realizes that the Saints/Colts could do something only two other teams have done, b.) the Saints/Colts are not doing it in the same fashion as the Patriots did.
That category b. is something that I have been big on the whole year. I find it weird that I am not as impressive with either team that much. I like the Saints but unless you count the New England game, they haven't looked like world beaters on both sides of the ball. The Colts really haven't had that standout game, rather just Peyton Manning playing at another level that the rest of the NFL. I have picked both teams to lose countless times for the reason of it, it has to be this weekend. But they are good teams finding alternative ways to win ball games.
Now it's the whole play/rest starters question but that is absurd to think about because honestly, you have to keep the players fresh to try to win the Super Bowl. The starters playing is not neccessarily going for the undefeated season, more like not letting our playoff arch-enemy the San Diego Chargers beat us in three to four weeks. Anyways here are the perfection picks...
Indianapolis (13-0) at Jacksonville (7-6)- The Colts have struggled in Jacksonville at times in the past decade and I think the Jaguars need to show the world that they are deserving of that six seed of the playoffs in AFC. I think the Colts are going to treat this like any other game and Peyton Manning will do work against the Jags by the fourth quarter. IND 24-14
Dallas (8-5) at New Orleans (13-0)- Another team that has prove they belong in the postseason talk, the Dallas Cowboys who look the Dan Marino Dolphins who were classically known for collapsing in the month of December. The Saints crowd should be jacked and the Saints offense is facing likely a DeMarcus Ware-less Cowboy team, rut roh. This will be a classic Tony Romo shitting the bed game, not close. NO 38-14
Sorry everyone, one more week of perfection talk.

NFL Preview: AFC South/AFC West
And after this one we are done leading to a couple things that happened today then picks for both NCAA/NFL hopefully on time.
AFC South
1. Indianapolis Colts: Key Players- QB Peyton Manning WR Reggie Wayne RB Joesph Addai Key Games- vs. Seattle (10/4) at/vs Tennessee (10/11, 12/6) vs/at Houston (11/8, 11/29) vs. New England (11/15) at Baltimore (11/22) Outlook- My roommate and die hard Manning fan Brett is worried about their O-Line but I think they will once again reclaim the AFC South. Although due to the hard divison, they will finish in the fourth spot in the AFC.
2. Tennessee Titans: Key Players- RB Chris Johnson CB Courtland Finnegan LB Keith Bulluck Key Games- at Pittsburgh (9/10) vs/at Houston (9/20, 11/23) vs/at Indianapolis (10/11, 12/6) at New England (10/18) vs. San Diego (12/25) at Seattle (1/3) Outlook- The big question is will Kerry Collins relive the year he had in 08? I think he can with the combination of Johnson/LenDale White I think will be too much for most teams. They beat out Houston for the sixth spot.
3. Houston Texans: Key Players- WR Andre Johnson QB Matt Schaub LB DeMeco Ryans Key Games- at/vs Tennessee (9/20, 11/23) at/vs Indianapolis (11/8, 11/29) vs. Seattle (12/13) vs. New England (1/3) Outlook- Honestly they could have a chance sneaking in with all the weak teams they play this year but they will fall just short of the Titans.
4. Jacksonville Jaguars: Key Players- RB Maurice Jones-Drew QB David Garrard DT John Henderson Key Games- at/vs Indianapolis (9/13, 12/17 ) vs/at Tennessee (10/4, 11/1) at New England (12/27) Outlook- Its not off to a good start with MJD questionable this week but they have no support through the air. Jack Del Rio will be gone after this one.
AFC West
1. San Diego Chargers: Key Players- QB Phillip Rivers RB LaDainen Tomilinson LB Shawne Tequi.. er Merriman Key Games- vs. Baltimore (9/20) at Pittsburgh (10/4) at NY Giants (11/8) vs. Philadelphia (11/15) at Tennessee (12/25) Outlook- I would like to remind everyone that it took an 8-8 team to win this division. The Chargers should coast and the first four games will tell us a lot about the Bolts.
2. Kansas City Chiefs: Key Players- QB Matt Cassell WR Dwayne Bowe LB Mike Vrabel Key Games- at Baltimore (9/13) at Philadelphia (9/27) vs. NY Giants (10/4) vs/at San Diego (10/25, 11/29) vs. Pittsburgh (11/22) Outlook- This is like picking the smartest Playboy bunny because you know all of those girls are complete dumb shits just like how the rest of the West is awful.
3. Oakland Raiders (AKA the Pratts): Key Players- QB JaMarcus Russell CB Nnamdi Asomugha DE Richard Seymour (oh wait.... shit, great move Al!) RB Darren McFadden Key Games- vs/at San Diego (9/14, 11/1) at NY Giants (10/11) vs. Philadelphia (10/18) at Pittsburgh (12/6) vs. Baltimore Outlook: I think they will be better than Denver but just by a bit. I hope they enjoy picking once again in the top 10. Also I wonder if Al will freeze when teams goes to the Steel City in December.
4. Denver Broncos: Key Players- QB Kyle Orton, WR Brandon Marshall, RB Knowshon Moreno Key Games- vs. New England (10/11) vs/at San Diego (10/19 ) at Baltimore (11/1) vs. Pittsburgh (11/9) vs. NY Giants (11/26) at Indianapolis (12/13) at Philadelphia (12/27) Outlook- With everything that has happened and that is continuing to happen, isn't inevitable with that schedule Denver will be drafting top five? I think so.
