Here is one of our favorite posts, which is the NBA Weekly. We usually take two NBA topics make them into one column to get to my readers faster. If you follow me on Twitter (/chuckscorner), a fan of Facebook (Chuck's Corner), or just like to read my stuff, thank you for it.
The Return of the Answer: For some reason everyone seems to be excited that Allen Iverson is returning to Philadelphia 76ers to relive the glory days where he once screamed about practice! We talkin' bout' practice!!! Sorry I had to do it one more time, always good to bring back. This isn't a good move for the team chemistry and once again, the Sixers are overrated. Elton Brand isn't playing well and the only real thing they have going for them is Andre Iguodala. Iverson will disrupt team chemistry... why? Because he always does, since Philly he hasn't gone to a team and not caused problems. Coming back to the City of Brotherly Love will make no difference. The Sixers realized they were losing money and decided they need more ticket money therefore bring back the hero of the early 2000s for the town. After the honeymoon is over in a couple weeks, people will realize that he is a shell of his former self.
Bless your Heart Ron: In my opinion, this tops the Tiger Woods scandal going on right now. Ron Artest admitted to drinking Hennessey during halftime of games while playing for the Chicago Bulls. Now most would be outraged but you know why I cannot? It's Ron Artest! Nothing this guy does surprises me anymore especially after the Michael Jackson Tribute and the Jimmy Kimmel Show. I probably should be more upset, but in all honesty, I think after the Malice in the Palace he truly turned his life around somewhat, still batshit crazy. Although a couple things I wonder about is how the hell does he play basketball after taking sips of Hennessey at halftime? I would love to see the splits from those years. "Oh look at those second-half numbers, Ron must have drunk a half a bottle!" It cannot be good and I do wonder if the drinking increases when the Bulls were getting blown out or winning big. Maybe Jamie Foxx was right.. Blame it on the Henny.

NBA Daily: Jacko and Ivo Gone.
Trying to get caught up on the sports world. Once again, my apologies but I have some free time Friday afternoon while my main man JS is doing the school thing at Iowa. I hope to be all done by then but who knows a couple NBA stories...
Stephen Jackson goes to Charlotte... hahahahahaha- This could of been the best place for this asshole to go. I didn't want him to go to a new team and self-destruct the team (only if it was LeBron... I kid). He is the biggest cancer in the NBA right now, just creates problems. Also poor Charlotte... they get a team back and now they have $36 million dollars tied up in 2011 to four players who will not be superstars (Big ups to one of the ESPN guys who had that on Twitter, I want to say it was Marc Stein). The Bobcats will find a new location by 2012, trust me. Or if that awful movie proves to be true, there will be no basketball (Side Note: How the hell does that shitty John Cusack flim make 65 million?! That just shows movie-goers have no taste).
The end of Allen Iverson- It is so sad that Allen Iverson is now a nobody in the NBA world. I know when its all said and done, he may be the reason why the NBA suffered such a decline after Michael Jordan and the lockout. No one liked the tattoos and the attitude, whatever the guy was a new kind of point guard. He did some many great things on defense and drove to the hoop better than any short point guard I have ever seen. I hope Ivo goes to New York, only so he has an opportunity to play and end his career on the right note. If he goes to a team like Cleveland will be a complete disaster, trust me. We all know he doesn't want to play on the bench, just know that.

The Answer to the Clips? Rut-Roh.
I had already claim that Shawn Marion going to the Mavs was the worst deal of the NBA Off Season so far but let me tell you if Allen Iverson is on the Los Angeles Clippers that will be the worst deal. Talk about heading for the hills and running if you are a fan of the Clippers.
Seriously can you even comprehend Clipper head coach Mike Dunleavy trying to tell A.I. what to do? I mean Baron Davis whose a bit of a headcase has big problems with Dunleavy and then Iverson who seems to be only controlled when his coach is Larry Brown is supposed to work with this guy? Cmon now, we all know this is a complete and utter disaster. The other thing about Davis is he isnt a true point guard, he likes to get to the basket, shoot the three, and take control. He is a lot like Mo Williams from the Cleveland Cavaliers. So now you have two guards that are thinking me before team once again another reason why this will not work.
I dont understand why Iverson wouldnt think about heading to the Charlotte Bobcats or the Memphis Grizzlies. I mean they might not be the best teams but they will let the Answer be "the man" which he hasnt been since his days as a Philadelphia 76er. There has always been someone else taking the spotlight from Allen and it seems like that does bother him. He wants to be the main attraction still at this old age and he has fail to accept being a supporting cast member.
Now if some way Dunleavy could figure out a way to control Ivo and Davis together to convince one of them that they need to pass more often then we might be looking at a playoff team. They have a great set of tools with the likes of Marcus Camby, Eric Gordan, and newly added Blake Griffin. But then again this is the Clippers.

AI Needs his Turkey and Marbury's Cool Suits.
I would just like to thank Allen Iverson to give me a perfect excuse to play his sound clip, "We are talking bout practice man!" Haha, he gave me this opportunity as he missed Thanksgiving morning practice which led to him being benched. Now I think this can just prove the point that AI does not think of anyone else but himself. Granted, it sucks to practice on Thanksgiving (I've been there) but it's necessary. Iverson likely wont have any more incidents all year.
Now to a guy who has more problems than most math textbooks: Stephon Marbury. He has not played a game all year and we have seen him show off all sorts of suits enjoying Madison Square Garden from the sidelines. Basically, its a cat fight between Mike D'Antoni and Marbury as they already hated each other from Phoenix and Marbury isnt the type of person to bury hatchet. In addition, he has no teammates behind him as Quinton Richardson has called him out in the past week and no one has came out to his defense.
Now he is officially suspended by the New York Knicks, and my dad mentioned it to me which led me to say, "Stephon's a punk, no question about it." He is the closet thing to a plague in the NBA. He was alright in his first years at Minnesota but as things started to improve for KG, Marbury wanted more. Then Steph diseased New Jersey and Phoenix. Now, he went to New York, a true hell hole in the NBA until D'Antoni got there.
I hope Marbury keeps picking splinters out of his ass.

AI Headin to Motown; Billups Back Home
The first major trade in the NBA went down and we arent even a full week into the NBA.
If you have been watching ESPN at all today, you will realized that Allen Iverson has been traded to the Detroit Pistons and Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess, and Cheikh Samb all go to the Nugguts.
One of the first things I did was text my buddy Shay whose a huge Carmelo Anthony fan and said "the Nuggets became a contender again." He agreed of course but I really do believe they have vaulted themselves into the top five because they got Billups who is a top-tier defender plus he is an assist machine instead of being a shoot-first Allen Iverson. That also frees up guys like Anthony, and J.R. Smith. I really like the Nuggets chances in the West.
As for the Pistons, I dont understand how AI and Rasheed Wallace plan to coexist in Detroit. I mean it would make for a great VH1 reality show but not really a good mix of basketball players. Marc Stein on ESPN reported that Dumars has always been fond of AI ever since the year 2000 and that new Bucks GM John Hammond was the guy holding back deals for Iverson because if you remember when Philly was throwing his name around, Detroit was one of the interested suitors. I like Cleveland's chances more and more to be the number two in the East instead of Detroit because of this deal. The only real positive for Detroit is I think you will see Jason Maxiell will become a prime time player for Detroit.
