NBA Northwest Division Preview

Two left to go and then I leave you with the predictions that will come true in June.

1. Utah Jazz: PG Deron Williams, PF Carlos Boozer, PF Paul Millsap OUTLOOK: If they can figure out ways to have Millsap/Boozer on the court at the same time then they could be real dangerous as a large front court team. PREDICTION: 3rd in the Western Conference.

2. Denver Nuggets: SF Carmelo Anthony, PG Chauncey Billups, PF Nene OUTLOOK: The Nuggets have a lot of the same parts that brought them to the Western Conference Finals and I think Ty Lawson could be the Rookie of the Year this year. The two top spots are interchangeable. PREDICTION: 4th in the Western Conference.

3. Portland Trailblazers: SG Brandon Roy, PF LaMarcus Aldridge, SF Travis Outlaw OUTLOOK: In my opinion, this will be the best division in the Western Conference. Another team that could contend for the top spot in the Northwest. Greg Oden's development plays a large part. PREDICTION: 5th in the Western Conference.

4. Oklahoma City Thunder: SF Kevin Durant, PG Russell Westbrook, PF Jeff Green- OUTLOOK: The Thunder are my favorite young team right now and a team who I truly believe could make the playoffs if they weren't in such a tough division. Next year will be a huge year for them. PREDICTION: 11th in the Western Conference.

5. Minnesota Timberwolves: PF Al Jefferson, PG Johnny Flynn, PF Kevin Love- OUTLOOK: The mastermind that is David Kahn could not land Ricky Rubio to the states so he better hope that Flynn has a huge year or he could be short-lived as T-Wolves GM. PREDICTION: 13th in the Western Conference.

Run Now David Kahn

Boy am I glad that I am not a Minnesota Timberwolves fan right now. I would be so depressed after realizing that one of our first-round picks Ricky Rubio, the eighteen year old basketball wizard from Spain has decided that he will be enjoying Barcelona instead. I mean can you blame the guy? I would rather be looking at topless women on the beach from November-February instead of wearing 723 layers of clothing in Minneapolis with yearning jersey chasers.

Some people are saying that Rubio is the one at fault due to his explanation about making his life complicated and things like that. I honestly think what I stated above was the true reason why Rubio probably didn't want to come to the Timberwolves. Also add to the fact, he is playing in the Midwest for a team whose fan base could give two shits about their team until the Minnesota Vikings are over. A lot like Yi Jianlian who was basically dragged to Milwaukee and he was in a suppressive nation! None of these Euro stars want to play in mid-major markets, they never get promoted the way that they desire.

I think that there is not chance in hell that Rubio is a Minnesota Timberwolf. He doesn't want to go there and people need to be convince of that. If I were Kahn I would send Rubio to any major market that wants him and then its their job to decide if he wants to play for them.

T-Wolves Making Moves but Will They Be Worth It?

The Minnesota Timberwolves are used to picking in the top ten in the last couple years and now they are ready to mold their team into a budding franchise with having four picks in the first round including the fifth and sixth pick after sending Mike Miller and Randy Foye to Washington for the aforementioned pick, Oleksiy Pecherov, Etan Thomas, and Darius Songaila. Now the big question is what does Minnesota do?

The one thing that we do know about the T-Wolves for the past fifteen years is besides Kevin Garnett, they cannot draft to save their souls. I mean they deal Ray Allen to the Milwaukee Bucks for Stephon Marbury, yikes. Also they dealt Brandon Roy in 2006 which turned out for the worse as well. That was the biggest reason why Kevin McHale got the boot although they bring in a guy (David Kahn) according to Bill Simmons and Chad Ford who managed the Indiana Pacers from Portland, rut roh. So I don’t know if the Timberwolves are out of the dark with this guy either especially seeing they love Tyreke Evans. I cannot see Evans being a great player in the NBA because he is a scoring point guard and those never seems to pan out the way they are supposed to. The other big issue with having four first rounders this year is bragging about the Snorlax you took home on Saturday night. This draft is one of the worst we have seen in the last twenty years therefore who knows how good the players are going to be for Minnesota.

The Wizards despite Twitter complaints from DC area rapper Wale (if you don’t know who that is, download his stuff now) their team looks pretty strong for the 2009 season if they stay healthy. Miller has always been a better sixth man and none of the Wizards big three can ever consistently shoot the three. Also they have a guy in Foye who can play the 1 and 2 plus he is a great slasher to the post. I like this deal for the Wizards, they just need to get a front line guy in the draft to help their causes.
