The Top Five of the Week: Super Bowl Moments

Because it's the Super Bowl this Sunday, I am doing a top five of my personal favorite Super Bowl moments that have stuck with me.  I would recommended for something to read that you check out the Lil Wayne article done by the Rolling Stone.  I will also have an interview with Eric from the Daily Sports Grind and my rant about 21st birthday parties then a full-on Super Bowl breakdown with my final pick of the year.

1. Favre to Rison 1997 Super Bowl- The Packers Super Bowl win is probably in the top three of coolest sports moments for me (right there with making the playoffs with Tosa West, and Marquette to the Final Four).  This play symbolizes the 90s version of Favre and the type of team the Packers were that year. They took a headcase and made him into a legitimate second option.

2. Desmond Howard's Return 1997 Super Bowl- All year Howard had been the game changer for the Packers and really was the reason the Packers were so good that year because of their excellent special teams.  Howard took from the goal line and found the seam to take it to the house putting a dagger in the Pats. It also gave his career hope after looking like it had gone nowhere after winning the Heisman.

3. Kevin Dyson One-Yard Short 2000 Super Bowl- I apologize for no Packer links but they really do not have anything on YouTube.  This was probably the best Super Bowl I have watched for many reasons and it featured everything you had wanted.  Both teams were virtually Cinderellas to begin the year and ended up in the Super Bowl with one yard from getting a touchdown.

4. Adam Vinateri Field Goal Winner 2002 Super Bowl- I watched the game with a bunch of people and they asked to put the score on the board. As a young kid, I went with 31 Pats 28 Rams. For some strange reason in my 13 year old mind, I felt confidence that an underdog could win this game. This also could explain why I still to this day love the underdog (foreshadowing!??!?!?!)

5. David Tyree's Catch 2008 Super Bowl- Probably the most improbable Super Bowl in a long time when the six-seeded Giants beat the then-undefeated New England Patriots.  It was ironic that the Pats were once the underdogs who everybody loved and by this time, there was such a hatred for them. When Tyree made that catch, only one time was my 10 floor dormitory.
