NFL Picks for Week 5

UPDATE: Just so every reader knows until about Wednesday, this blog probably wont have any new material on it, I will probably do my wrap-up together and make my picks for College Football if necessary

On to the NFL

Kansas City at Carolina- Last week, it seemed like the Chiefs were rejuvenated by Damon Huard and Larry Johnson but that was against a shotty defense at best in Denver. They will have a tough time getting points on the board this week and Carolina keeps rolling along. CAR 24-10

Chicago at Detroit- The Lions are the worst team in football, just have nothing really working for them and Chicago has looked strong so far, its important they dont lay an egg today. CHI 23-6

Atlanta at Green Bay- The Packers have looked awful their last two games and their defense is banged up like none other. This series always seems to have nailbiters and this one will go down to the very end with or without Aaron Rodgers. GB 16-13

San Diego at Miami- Interesting matchup here because you wonder if the Phins can repeat the success they had against New England and San Diego could be above .500 to get the ball rolling. I think this one will be a battle but the Chargers pull out in the end. SD 27-24

Seattle at New York Giants- Seattle gets all their offense weapons and New York loses one of theirs in Plexico Burress but the Seahawks have a tough time on the East Coast plus it takes sometime for QB/WR to gel again. NYG 31-10

Washington at Philadelphia- This is a critical game for McNabb and the Eagles who are getting Reggie Brown back for the first time this year and the Redskins are looking to continue their success on the road. I think the Eagles get the clutch victory but very close. PHI 24-17

Tennessee at Baltimore- Talk about a defensive struggle. This game will be hard-hitting and it will depend on who can run the ball better. I like the combo of Johnson/White much better than what the Ravens have to offer. TEN 14-9

Indianapolis at Houston- The Texans desperately need this one to not sink lower and it will be an emotional one as it being their first time back in Houston. But I just cannot see Peyton Manning letting his team go under .500 any longer.

Tampa Bay at Denver- A matchup of a team with a solid defense and a non-defense. This game needs to be a shootout for the Broncos to win this one against their former quarterback Brian Griese. Not happening. TB 28-17

Buffalo at Arizona- Could the Bills be 5-0? I think they have looked as good as any other team in the NFL right now and the way Arizona's defense played last week, they could be in for a long day today. BUF 31-20

New England at San Fransisco- This game will be a blowout in my opinion, the Pats are pissed about last week and they have two weeks to prepare. Uh oh. NE 42-17

Cincinnati at Dallas- Another game that will get out of hand quick. The whole Dallas offense should be just licking their chops to play this game and the Bengals all the sudden become the Bungals again. DAL 35-13

Pittsburgh at Jacksonville- Seriously this is the third straight week that the Steelers and the Cowboys (see above) are involved in one of the primetime slots. This game doesnt peak my interest whatsoever, it will be a battle all game long with the Jags prevailing late. JAX 13-10

Minnesota at New Orleans- A matchup of two young teams who both need a win this week but I think when it comes down to it, the Vikings have a defense and the Saints do not. That spells trouble going up against #28. MIN 35-21
