NFL Picks Week 16: Showdown Sunday

Probably one of the best football weekends in late December in the last ten years. So much is on the line and so many key games.

Indianapolis (10-4) at Jacksonville (5-9)- Not a great game for a Thursday night affair. Before starting, I have more respect for Cris Collinsworth after listening to him on the BS Report, granted still an idiot in Madden. The Colts need this one to secure the fifth seed in the playoffs, I dont see Peyton and the boys letting up in this one. IND 31-13

Baltimore (9-5) at Dallas (9-5)- The Cowboys being the media whores that they always have been, remain in the media over this whole Romo-Whitten-TO thing blah blah. This game will be a defensive battle and I think even though I have criticized his fourth quarter play. Tony Romo is the reason they win this game. DAL 17-13

Cincinnati (2-11-1) at Cleveland (4-10)- Wow quite the rivalry match up in this one. These teams always seem to put up a ton of points against each other and since Ken Dorsey is the Browns QB, two straight wins for the Bengals. CIN 28-14

San Francisco (5-9) at St. Louis (2-12)- Another barn burner in the NFC West. The Niners are much better than the Rams are, not too much else to be said. Lets hope for a fight. SF 31-17

New Orleans (7-7) at Detroit (0-14)- The Lions may have the toughest schedule and please win this game, I have a bad feeling if they are winless going into to Lambeau next weekend. Too bad, they wont as Drew Bress has a field day. NO 38-20

Pittsburgh (11-3) at Tennessee (12-2)- I picked the Texans in an upset last weekend and I hate to do it to the city of Nashville but it happens again. Also the Steelers have been in prime time every damn week and finally when they have a game worth it, they play at noon. Unreal. PITT 16-13

Miami (9-5) at Kansas City (2-12)- Carl Peterson stepped down as Chiefs GM/President, pretty classy guy and I hope he lands somewhere else. I think Detroit would be lucky to have him. On to this game, honestly this one in years past the Phins would completely collapse due to the cold conditions. I think that Miami will pull it out because of their defense. MIA 21-6

Arizona (8-6) at New England (9-5)- The Cardinals looked awful last weekend against the Vikings and now they have to make a trek to Boston where the Pats are in desperate need of a win, shouldnt be pretty. NE 27-10

San Diego (6-8) at Tampa Bay (9-5)- Seriously will someone fire Norv Turner already or A.J. Smith? Both should be looking for work after this debacle of a season. They wont come close to the Bucs this weekend as they are in need of a win. TB 24-13

Houston (7-7) at Oakland (3-11)- The Texans have been on a complete and utter roll lately led by their two Pro Bowlers Andre Johnson and Mario Williams. I see no reason why they wont continue against the hapless Oakland Raiders. HOU 34-20

Buffalo (6-8) at Denver (8-6)- The Broncos looked poor against the Panthers last weekend but good news they are probably dealing with J.P. Losman who single handily lost the Bills the game last weekend. DEN 23-7

New York Jets (9-5) at Seattle (3-11)- Once again, Brett Favre gave the "aw shucks I am unsure about next season, I am just worried about the playoffs." The Jets are 0-3 on the West Coast this year and I believe it continues on Sunday. SEA 24-21

Atlanta (9-5) at Minnesota (9-5)- The Vikings have been playing very well lately and I believe if they win, the NFC North is theirs. Too bad, they will expose how much they miss Pat Williams when Michael Turner runs all over them. ATL 31-28

Philadelphia (8-5-1) at Washington (8-6)- Jim Zorn has taken more shots at himself than most MMA fighters, he sounds like a whiny bitch if you want my opinion on it. The Eagles are one of the hottest teams in football and that tie is really gunna come back to bite them in the ass. PHI 34-20

Carolina (11-3) at New York Giants (11-3)- Huge game deserving of the Sunday Night billing. While the Giants have looked helpless on offense the last two weekends and the Panthers have shown how great the combination of Johnathon Stewart and DeAngleo Williams. This game should go down to whoever has the ball last and I think the Giants will slip by. NYG 35-31

Green Bay (5-9) at Chicago (8-6)- The Packers have lost five straight games and times really cannot be worse. I will give my evaluation at the end of the season and Bears probably will come out ahead in this one but I cant pick a Chicago team to win, it just not in my blood. GB 20-17

If you live in Milwaukee, enjoy shoveling.

-Charlie.
