Quick Brewer Thoughts

Since its finals week, I have no time to really write up a full report on the Brewers weekend. I breathe a huge sigh of a relief after taking three of four from the NL-Central leading Cardinals and I hope its a sign of better things to come. So I will give you guys some quick hitters.

-Rickie Weeks, it was great to see him come up in the clutch after getting completely ragged on by fans for choking when it matters. He needs to up that average a little bit but I am okay with the low numbers when his OPS and runs is that high. Look it up, you would be amazed.

-Mike Cameron- he has seen his struggles in the beginning of his season but I think once he starts seeing the ball much better, he will reap the benefits. I still am waiting for his first high-light reel catch.

-Ryan Braun- What cannot be said about Braunie weekend. He has 4 HRs in two days and it seems with Prince struggling he has put the team on his back.

-Bill Hall- I would love to see him hit singles/doubles more than Homers every six days.

-Corey Hart- My favorite player continues to be strong and in my opinion playing the best ball on the team right now.

-Manny Parra- This kid could be so special if he didnt walk so many damn batters. I thought his performance against the Cards was strong after struggling for the first two innings.

-Jeff Suppan/Dave Bush- Needed that performance bad. He walked too many but made up for it with getting alot of outs.

-Eric Gagne- I havn't said it on this board but I am a huge Gagne fan. But even I realized it was time to let go of the closer role after the Saturday game. He is just struggling and needs a couple games to get his shit back together. I didn't like though how the fans booed him, you gotta show some support even though he isn't playing strong.

NBA Update:Where Winning on the Road Doesn't Happen

Yeah I know game five for the Pistons-Magic is going on but I could really give two shits about that series in general. Dwight Howard is the only guy who peaks my interest. So it is a pretty good series but I really could care less.

The Spurs-Hornets series proves to be boring as well because it comes down to whoever is at home beats the shit out of the road team. All I ask is for one good game between the two.

I am convinced if Kobe is healthy for game four, they win that game. Lamar Odom and Derek Fisher were very clutch and bad back or not, the Lakers will blow out the Jazz in Game 5.

The big question on PTI today was are the Celtics in trouble? I would agree with them after LeBron James huge dunk over Kevin Garnett, just insane. Probably the only time, LBJ earns the picture spot on this blog site. I think LeBron very well might blow up again in Game 5 and the Celts may be out of the playoffs. Its not that I want this happen because nothing will be more boring than Cavs-Pistons. Oh wait, Jazz-Spurs.

Coaching Changes Galore in the NBA

Something that I forgot to blog about this weekend was the new coaches of the New York Knicks and the Dallas Mavericks.
First off with the Knicks with the hiring of Mike D'Antoni, I think anytime you get a guy whose won 254 games in four years, its usually a good pick up. I thought they overpaid for D'Antoni because he has not done anything in the playoffs. Granted that was out west where the entire conference is stacked and you get to the East where three good teams are out there. Also people have made the comment why didnt he go to the Bulls where he had the perfect fit but D'Antoni would get pushed by Paxson just like Kerr and Reinsdorf is a prick. Simple as that. I think he will end up completely changing the make-up of this team with them drafting fifth (Projected), they can get a guy like Jared Bayless or if they move up to one/two getting Rose/Beasley. That will start a young foundation and maybe in two years getting LeBron James.

The Mavericks went with the guy who I wanted to see the Bucks get in Rick Carlisle. I think anyone the Mavs get is not going to last very long as for the team is getting old. Jason Terry is becoming past his prime, Josh Howard is not as good when he is looked as a main scorer. Dirk seems to get hurt too much and they have no inside presence. The dumbest thing Mark Cuban ever did was trade for Jason Kidd. It has aged the team in so many ways. Unless moves are made, Carlislie is probably out in three years in my opinion.

50th Entry

Well we are half way to 100. I see it as an accomplish and we might be to 75 if I dont take a couple months off at a time. I thought about using another writer and I still might do it. I just hope for a great sports news summer that provides me with alot of great information.
Expect an NBA Mock Draft and who knows any other story that breaks in the summer. I will give an outlook on Tosa West football too.

Hold the Mayo: O.J in Big Time Trouble

God what a cheesy title but its finals week so I really cannot think of anything better. Lets talk about Mr. O.J. Mayo and how screwed USC will be in a couple years as the hammer will drop down on them.

As a university I have always cheered for the football team and has been rather impartial when it comes to the basketball team because they never had any guys who I liked to watch. Now lets rewind to last spring where O.J. Mayo a guy who was being hailed as the next LeBron James decides to go to USC. Now the media is hyping up the issue of battle for Los Angles between Mayo versus Love.

O.J. Mayo has a pretty productive year for the Trojans averaging 20 a game and led them to an NCCA Tourney bid where they were a six seed only to be knocked out by Michael Beasley and Kansas State. There was even rumors during the Tourney that Mayo would not join the NBA this season and would play another year for USC.... So much for that, he bolted to the NBA and hired an agent.

Here is where the problem lies. According to an ESPN Outside the Lines report, the sports agency BDA and one of their employees Rodney Guilroy who happens to be O.J. Mayo's mentor. Hmm... interesting tidbits about that. O.J. had nice big flat screen T.V. in his USC dorm room, wow how do you afford that when you lived in poor Huntington, West Virgina where according to WSN poster Pistolpetefan23, "Couldnt afford a cellphone." Wow, interesting how he had a high-tech cell phone all throughout the year, maybe he had a kick-ass summer job? Oh wait, he couldnt do that with all the basketball he was playing. All signs in this case point to Guilroy and will put USC in deep shit.

The funny thing about this situation is that Gregg Doyal of CBS Sportsline (hated amongst Badger Basketball fans) wrote an article regrading the character of the O.J. Mayo and this Guilroy character. In this article, Guilroy got in trouble for giving airfare to a USC and Fresno State players in 2000-2001! Cmon, Tim Floyd how does this not set up huge red flags about Mayo and why in the hell do you bring him in? Tim didnt want to be second-fiddle to UCLA anymore so thats why he brought in Mayo. Well now he might be looking for a new job if this gets really serious or not seeing the postseason for the next five years. If I am DeMar DeRozen the big time recruit for USC, I get the hell out of there while I can. Also if his grandfather was still alive, there is no way O.J. steps foot on to USC's campus, no ifs ands or buts about it.

I found an article about Worldwide Wes about a month or so ago who has been involved with some interesting tactics with Memphis and now it seems to be Illinois too. If they find Guilroy to be guilty, they need to at least do some digging about Wes. He sounds too good to be true, just an ambassador. Cmon.

I will say this... the basketball world would be better without AAU.

NBA: Where Kobe Happens

First off, let me give credit to Kobe Bryant for finally getting his MVP. He has deserved it for many years and he has got it now. You can say well he has Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom, well he was pulling this shit when he had Smush Parker and Kwame Brown. Bryant has proved to me he is better than anyone in the league. The next statement might shock you all but he is the "Brett Favre of NBA" Chuck what are you talking about? Consider it this way, the last couple years Kobe had no one just like Brett in the 93-95 years and he still got them to the playoffs. Then once he got the whole package, it resulted in the Super Bowl. The same will happen with Kobe.

-I seriously do not believe the Lakers-Jazz series will go farther than five games. They play tonight and I think the Jazz might get this one then the Lakers win one in Utah. It will not go farther than six if the Jazz win both in Utah.

-I could see the Hornets-Spurs going the distance. I wish the games were actually worth watching. Three games have been dogshit to watch because one team is getting blown out. I think the Spurs will win tomorrow and it will end in seven with the Hornets winning it.

-How bad does LeBron James and the Cavs look? I personally am not a witness. I think LeBron is a great player but doesnt deserve the hype he consistently gets. Sure, he puts up big stats all the time but when the offense is surrounded by one player, he is obviously putting up big numbers. They need to sign Shawn Marion. Well, the Celts will steal one in Cleveland and end this series in five.

-The snoozefest that is the Magic-Pistons have gotten a bit interestinCheck Spellingg with Billups injury and how severe it really is. I think he will be out for game four and the Magic will win another one because the Pistons go as far as Chauncey Billups goes. I think the Pistons win it in 6.

I have watched most of the NBA games this year and consider myself an NBA fan. I will keep cheering on Kobe and hope that they continue their dominance.
